Smelling like a 10 goal loss. Also, my statement post Chandler's 3 goal game against North was that he wouldn't kick 3 goals in his next 3 games. He has kicked... checks notes.... 1. Why do we have small forwards that can't average more than a goal a game getting a kick?

Skill errors almost unbelievable for an AFL team.

But the good news is that we have only three problems to fix:

  1. A dysfunctional defence.

  2. A lacklustre midfield.

  3. A non-existent forward line.

Fixed spelling.

Let’s face it we are never going to stop bombing it in. Knowing that wtf is Goodwin doing playing a forward line full of midgets. Might as well play disco roo Aidan johnson and jeffo so we have a chance

How did this happen and who is responsible

i'm a perceptive supporter not a 'die hard' because why would i die hard when they persisted with Goodwin when it was clear that he was not allowing the best of our players. we recruited Nate Jones of all people to coach, with no coaching credentials, purely on sentiment, and we arguably did the same with Brad Green.
When we had Roffey who was a great President because she offered something different. Green and Jones are Fanboys and they are not football intellects wide-armed person people (as Roffey was).

I don't wish to pile [censored] on Melbourne, but I'm trying to have a perceptive and critical discussion about it.

Unfortunately for you I have developed a soft spot for Collingwood because even though many of they're supporters are horrible, the club has a spirit that wouldn't allow pure sentiment to cloud their vision for their prosperity and the welfare of the players.

That being said, my line of reasoning is much more caring to our players than supporters who just say "great we have Nate Jones coaching and Goodwin still there, fantastic!" without seeing how catastrophic this has been for the welfare and prosperity of kids like Petracca and the younger echelon of Rivers etc. who are trying to live full and unhindered footballing careers

You Go Away, youve probably got no guts to stand up for what this club needs.

If you have a “soft spot” for Collingwood you can F off now Sunshine.

I am not interested in your philosophical rants…

Given our fourth quarter drop offs, we could be looking at a very ugly margin.

Can't even begin to comprehend how badly we are going to get smashed by freo next week.

Goodwin has killed this team. Purely in a football context (not personally) I hate everything about him.

2nd

🤮Spargo 3 missed tackles

🤮Bowey spare. Ridley spare. Bombers uncontested marks in defence

🤮chip chip chip chip TURNOVER

🤮Spargo setup Langdon for ko

🤮fumbles and fumbles and fumbles

🤮. Inside50s 27. Goals 2. 7%

🤮Spargo metres gained 50

️Langdon 17 disposals 6 contested possessions 1 goal 8 marks

Total lack of basic skills with the exception of 2 or 3 players.

The forwards lack any structures to play too and the coaches look to have no idea of what to do.

I just witnessed the most uninspiring quarter of footy I've seen in my life.

No spirit, no drive of the half back line, no marking ability.

This is unbelievable.

There is no passion, no fire, no confidence, no fire in the belly. And I can't see who in our team can spark it. Max is toiling hard, but where do we lift from? Can we?

This is horrible, so sad how low we have fallen in a relatively short space of time.

They have somehow completely lost confidence or something is terribly wrong behind the scenes .

Our forwards refuse to lead and prefer to wrestle.

West coast and Richmond would beat us at this stage. WTF ??

I want answers not small talk from the coach and club.

Looked up at my '21 GF poster.
15 Premiership players we've got out here tonight.

That is very depressing isn't it? Goodwin has wasted these talented players. No game plan whatsoever! Seeing them play this way reminds me of going to watch all those Neeld games. Breaks my heart.

not many positives

langdon playing well.

and we're only down by 5 goals

We played Roo, Jeffo and AJ in week 1. Kicked our highest score for the year and only got rolled by 3 points and unlucky to lose that. Imahine if we had of had Kozzie in we would have won easily. Since then we've continually dropped a tall each week until now we are down to 1 (Jeffo is still injured in believe?), Melksham still getting a game for some unknown reason and the other two talls in Fullarton and AJ can't get a game because.... Goody?

I can see the changes for next week

IN: Jeffo, Fullerton, Disco

JvR being set up for failure.

Langdon can hold his head up high.

This season has quickly devolved from me being hopefully of a win in most games we play to just being interested in the young players development. Sad.

I’d sub Conca and Chaplin in. Can’t be any worse off

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
