So we have fritta who according to goody has turned the corner, even though he's only kicked the 1 goal & did some selfish things last week & van rooyen who cannot hold onto a mark & goes to ground so easily.

We'll bring McKay back into form.

We saw mcqualtar make the call to drop Tim Kelly but goody never has the guts to do it.

Which tall on the bench helps Max and covers injuries.????

Good idea Goodwin let’s play same core team who got us in this mess and expecting change. The sooner you are gone the sooner we move forward as it’s clear you won’t ever change.

He doesn’t play for us.😁👍

Goodwin has lost the plot, what a shocking selection.

Happy with the changes, Lindsay in is a plus, and backing the players in to get the job done sends a strong internal message on what's expected.

The idea that we have fringe and developing players running round in the two's who'd make any more than a marginal, move-the-deckchairs difference is just delusional.

Small ball to try and expose Essendon's oversized defence I don't mind, but it's not a sustainable forward line with no height

Which would be fine until we bomb it long to undersized forwards. I reckon I will make Ridley my SC captain, he will prob take 50 marks

Melky to play a defensive role on him would be the plan you'd assume

I mean I assumed we would want to kick more than 6 goals a game but I seem to be wrong there too.

Fullarton has kicked 10 goals in 3 games at VFL level. He has been leading high and creating scores when not deep forward and playing really well. If that isn't enough to warrant a look in when we have no other tall forwards to take pressure off Roo (who now has to play back up ruck and singular key forward in a forward line that is getting the worst delivery in the league) then what point is there in producing solid, good form in the 2s? There's no reward because Goodwin can't get his rose tinted glasses off and actually drop underperforming "stars".

Since the flag we have recruited players from other teams on the basis on a fair shot at senior football, promised them the world then dumped them in the VFL and left them to rot. Grundy, Fullarton, Campbell, Dunstan, Billings to name a few.

We are going to run Gawn into the ground well before kings birthday, trac is already frustrated, Roo will end up a wreck like Watts with no support. Time to get rid of Goodwin, thank him for his effort and try and salvage the season and put a plan into place going forward.

Yep and yep again, any player who has kicked 10 goals in three games SHOULD be rewarded! ESPECIALLY WHEN THE SIDE IS ZERO 4

DREADFUL !

Thrilled to see Lindsay back. Seeing him and Langford play a full game together will be exciting. Hopefully he hasn't been rushed and is 100% good to go.

With his recent form, I really get the feeling that Fullerton's papers have already been stamped if he can't get a spot in our forward line.

Casey have only played 3 games and Fullarton was leading goal kicker in one.

10 goals in three games - how many have JVR and Fritsch kicked?

I understand that stability is good for a team, but not when your players are horribly out of form and there are options presenting at VFL level

You don’t think fullarton deserves a run? Not rewarding form?

I don’t think a response saying “the vfl isn’t the afl “ is relevant - it’s literally all we have to build form.

I tend to think not being a bit more hard nosed sends the opposite message

It also will cause those perennially not rewarded for form to bugger off

Where’s Jeffo?

What about Kynan Brown?

Nah [censored] that, Harry Sharp is clearly more deserving /s

Fullerton probably isn't the answer but he should have been picked. There has to competition for places.

Players know poor form is accepted. not a good message at all.

This. This coach either lives in LaLaLand o he no longer cares.

At least try something different, regard those players doing hard yards in the VFL.

Think I heard Goodwin on sen saying he thought Fritta had turned the corner last week so assume it won’t happen. Not surprised at all with selection news or lack of tbh.

Prob no support for Gawn either, let’s just keep running him into the ground and have our young forward JVR cover for him makes perfect sense FFS

Drives me nuts.

Allen Jean's has advice for Goody..

Don't think..... do

Strongly disagree

The palyers at Casey are not better than this 23

That was John Kennedy Snr.

A real “phone it in” effort at selections by Goodwin and Co.

Tell me who’s going to be our key forward when JVR is rucking or on the bench?

Fullarton, Brown? At least give you something more than Spargo or Sharp. The Disco dropped when we are lacking at our fwd line?

No egg on my face lol

Senior moment.

So Jean's overheard Kennedy or something 🤔

Advice same ...

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
