Just wondering which theme everyone prefers the most; Light or Dark?

The results may help me decide which theme to make as the default.

At the moment the Light theme is the default so most people will be using that one and many may not even be aware that there is now a Dark Mode of Demonland.

To switch to the Dark Mode (or back to the Light Mode) navigate to the bottom of the page. Towards the left hand side there is an icon of a Crescent Moon. Click that to switch to Dark Mode. Click the Light Bulb next to it to switch back to Light Mode.

So which one do you prefer?

  • Demonland changed the title to POLL: Light or Dark?

I thought this was another thread about measuring Demonlanders’ collective psyche. Disappointing.

Can’t say as I haven’t worked out how to change it from light.

Andy?

If on your phone, scroll to the bottom - the icons highlighted below switch the mode.

Dark mode seems highly appropriate currently

How about Red Mode in a few weeks if we keep losing by 10 goals? blink

Darkness is all appropriate for the Dees long suffering collective at the present time.

Not sure but dark mode might be better for battery life.

To be brutally honest I wasn't mad on the new format. I'm probably not mad on change in general.

Until I switched to dark mode. It's great.

This intrigued me but I've found conflicting theories.

Interesting post. I just thought my iphone battery lasted longer when its screen was less bright. ?

When I first saw the Poll Name I suspected it was regarding how we see our demonic future !!

Don't set a default, just let people choose. That way everyone's happy.

I need to choose a default theme for the site that is presented to visitors.

Currently, it's set to Light, allowing users the option to switch to Dark Mode if they prefer. Alternatively, I can set the default to the Navy Dark Theme, with the option for users to switch back to Light.

Either way, users will always have the flexibility to pick their preferred theme. I'm simply looking for some guidance on what the default should be, as many users aren't aware they have the option to switch and usually stick with what's presented initially. This poll is designed to help me gauge member preferences and make an informed decision on what should be the best look and feel of Demonland to visitors to the site.

Loved dark as soon as I switched to it. It's the navy blue with red user names and white text. It's the Guernsey colours and different to all the other websites I visit.

I'm surprised that there are so many picking the light theme in the poll.

Thank you and dark i go

I'm usually dark mode all the way, but for some reason I prefer light mode for this site. I find the topics list clearer that way. Maybe I need more time to adjust.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
