Ditto on that. And kudos to the way the kid handled it. Showed he has some solid mental fortitude as well which should come in very handy.

Definitely showed confidence and maturity.

I can be dumb, was watching Saturday and this number 19 kept popping into the play and it took until his goal before I realised who the hell it was. Different profile, a seniors moment. Hope he has another great game this weekend.

Our young players are all looking great and need to prioritised ahead of our senior players who have dropped the ball.

Not where you start it is where you finish. Go Harvey, I see big things for him

Very very impressive highlights. A good leg and some excellent work with the hands in close.

I was thrilled when we picked this kid. Looks as hard as cats scone with some impressive marking and kicking skills.

The only thing I was slightly worried about was a lack of space but he clearly has no issues in the big time with a quick first step to create space for himself and excellent instincts to create space for his team mates.

He's going to have some up and down moments this year as his young body fatigues during the long season but this kid looks a ripper and long term, will be fantastic MFC player. I have no doubts.

thought he took a while to get going against gold coast, but his second half in particular was very impressive

the real shame is that he doesn't have the incredible breakaway speed of a finn callaghan type; he seems like he's going to be much more of a bullocking inside mid type as opposed to an inside / out player

Doesn't seem to bother the Bont

Coming into the draft there was a big knock on his pace from a number of prospective clubs.

More poor decisions by SG.

The only explanation I can think of is they didn't think he was fit enough for a full game and seeing as VFL didn't start for another week, they decided to give him a little taste and something to take back to Casey with him the following week

Just needs to work on his awareness as I reckon he got done holding the ball 3 or 4 times on Saturday.

Otherwise, it's fantastic/terrible that Langford's rising star nomination and Lindsey's ACL escape and round 1 performance have been the only source of happiness thus far.

You just knew that as soon as the ball left his foot that he'd nail that goal. He deserved a better celebration than he did from his teammates but they'd all checked out at that point.

He looks like he knew he'd nail it too, loved his celebration, looked like that of a much more mature player than a first gamer. Love this kid, he is the future with the other kids, something to be excited about.

Not everyone needs the speed of Callaghan to have an outside impact

What I love about Langford is his IQ and spacing - he just seems to know how to find space and time to give a handball or nail a kick

I just see Baby Bont every time I see him play

Love this kid, one bright light from an otherwise bleak game.

Lindsay looks like a ripper too, I know it's very early but he just seems like future captain material (in another 7 or 8 years).

On the flip side, he kept getting the ball to be tackled.
Not sure if it is a communication issue or him not being up to the speed/intensity of the adult game, this will improve.

Would like to see him get a few tackles as well.

He may not be the quickest, just need to compliment him with players with different skill sets.

19 year old seems our best chance of hitting a target inside 50.

Like to know what the points he needed working after a quarter of game time against the two greens and the rest of the GWS mids. Sounds like there was some bits highlighted and was sent to casey to work on them. Anyone want to fill me in on the things he needed to do?

Just a young fella adjusting to the speed of the game. He'll be alright.

I actually find this hilarious how Trac said Langford went away to work on the defensive side of his game when Trac's defensive efforts on the weekend were absolutely putrid.

The coach runs a tight ship, as has been the case for a few years now, there are standards to be met for some players and the coach coddling and overlooking them for his favourites.

Anyway, well done to Harvey, played a great game. Showed up our multi million dollar midfield in terms of clearances and actually tried to be aggressive with some ball movement. Fingers crossed Goody isnt around long enough to ruin him.

Gonna be a star. Thanks JT, you've nailed another ripper. And well done, Langers.

With a Lingers and now a Langers, this is going to get really confusing.

I always think RS nominations in terrible team performances are much deserved, you're not being carried by anyone.

Well done Harvey, the start of great things to come.

When Trac did the honours of letting Harvey know he was the rising star in front of the group, he mentioned that he had gone back & worked hard “on his defensive side of the game”

Harvey "The Bison" Langford kicked a very classy goal for the Demons against the Cats tonight.

One of the few positives from the evening down at Kardinia Park.

Langford is very classy but his lack of pace means he needs to get incredibly strong to be a good AFL player. He needs to lock himself in the weight room over summer.

Do you think Pendlebury has ever been all that fast, or that strong?

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
