I have tried to look at this rationally and logically but .... no matter how hard I try .... I just can't get angry or indignant at a player getting off for whacking that POS, Mason Cox.

We all know what has happened here.

Back to the grassy knoll theory.

Crisp should have got a week, but he is a Pie going for an AFL record, so let the other guy off for a blatant punch to the face and everyone will be happy and let it slide.

Think back to Sparrows’ suspension for a tackle, a couple of years ago, which was less or the same as Crisp.  No Pies’ player going for a record that week.

I still cannot get over or reconcile Kozzie’s latest 3 week suspension, involving the Pies’ Captain, dished out by a Pies’ Premiership player and then dismissed at a Tribunal headed by a self declared Pies’ fan.    Oh yeah!

So .... Danger elbows a player to the head and only gets a fine???? Park me, KOZZY would have got 4 weeks

Can anyone honestly swear that having an ex Collingwood player as MRO passes the pub test?

Sunday Herald Sun page 91 shows a photo of Darcy Moore shoulder charging Sam Darcy in what was referred as a “marking contest”.

Does anybody know if this has been under the spotlight?

Nb. I haven’t seen the video.

Ps. I think this is now No.4 of questionable incidents by Moore since KB.

Yep, it was gunna happen to him sooner or later.

I read that Viney has been charged “for an incident” and offered a fine.
Did anyone see anything?

Surely the low IQ MRO should be required to be more specific

Maybe something to do with his kicking efficiency?

Umpires door

3 weeks for Mansell, always interesting when the AFL make an example of someone, we’ve been on the other end of this a few times.

While pushing can be dangerous as we have seen and I am not a Mansell fan, this is ridiculous.

They were wrestling and he pushed him away and then Lynch hits him with an arm I think, clumsily at the end of the contest. How is Mansell meant to see that happening from his action?

It wasn’t even a hard push.

Because the Saint got concussed they are looking for a player to penalise.

Lynch is actually the one who struck and concussed him.

Players are punching each other and getting a fine.

Mansell nearly pushed him into taking the mark - Lynch stopped that. Free against Lynch.

Surprising that Yze thought they couldn't change the rules mid-season. From his time at Melb you'd think he knows they change anything when if suits the AFL. (I expect he does know, but said what he said regardless)

Some bloke pushed the number 1 draft pick (Lalor) into a collision that broke his jaw and got nothing in a practise match.

I get the MRO is a tough gig but consistency can't be that hard

Nobody thinks Lobb should have got off for punching Cox in his goggles but he did.

Don't even get me started about a dog ending the career of a hero of the MFC.

Yeah this Mansell suspension is disgraceful. If it had happened to an MFC player this thread would be going bonkers right now.

This wasn’t punishable conduct in the pre-season but is now?

The MRO system is beyond a joke.

We were all wondering who would be the comparatively low-profile expendable player who would cop the disproportionate ban to affirm that the AFL 'meant it all along' with the rule they weren't enforcing.

Mansell should sue. Straight up. Get at 'em.

Don't know about suing but it was only a matter of time for this to happen to a lower ranked player...

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
