Welcome aboard Jack (Hendo).

Best of luck, earned your opportunity the hard way.

Was disappointed when we didn't draft him. He addresses a need, and I reckon he'll play a lot of senior football this year.

Haha you’ve got this the wrong way round OF. The second bit is not in question at all.

The first bit, we’ll see!

Could help to fill a gap we've had since Harmes left and we lost Angus😪.

Let's hope they're the Bees Dees.

Yeah. Don’t mind the Bee Dees - as long as it’s not a Tragedy, and they’re not just Staying Alive.

I just watched his show reel. Is there any doubt at all? He's got bargain-basement written all over him. Anyone have his Brownlow odds?

Welcome aboard the Dee Train Jack Henderson just in time to make a big impact and shore up our stocks. Good luck Jack.

Comming through as a rookie / secondary list type player like Harmes too.

Still dispointed that things went somewhat south between Harmes and the club in the end.  Though I haven't really watched many of his games for the Dogs, he still seems to be getting a senior game there and thought we could have used the depth and his hard edge and attacking dare in our team last season.  All the same, I think it's also good (perhaps for all involved) that we let him go, even just from the perspective if list balance age profile wise.

Think he only played  9 last year.

Understand.  So probably frindge, not best 22 (similar to where he ended up with us).  The thing being, we could have done with a findge mid to provide depth last season, as I'm fairly sure he would have given us way more than Laurie Vs GWS and say maybe a game we lost by a few points against Brisbane etc and might have tipped us into playing finals contention... not that we might have had that much impact with the way our season ended.

In some respects I think it was actually better for us not to make finals last year.  Few better draft picks and extended presason for Oliver and whoever else was carrying injuries and tires from x3 intense seasons running right to the pointy end.

A list really needs top 28-30 so these so called fringe players are vital.

Welcome Jack…

The game is tilting… to smaller people?

Has there been an official announcement anywhere or are we just relying on media commentary? I can find nothing on the MFC or AFL websites (although both sites are so poor it could be there).

The media is always right, isn't it?

Dewey Defeats Truman: The Famously Mistaken Headline

There's something strange and impressive about some of his tackles. It is like the opponent goes docile, just accepting 'yep, I'm tackled, oh well'.

If footy doesn't work out he could earn just as much as a shearer with that skill... does he have quick hands?

Welcome aboard! Great goal sense and a very good mark for his height but not overly quick.

Fills a need.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
