Lacking some punctuation, sorry God!

I’ve heard mixed things about him as a person, but purely from a football sense, I would strongly advocate for him.

Yep. While you probably wouldn’t want Jimmy involved with your sister or your daughter, not many better to have inside your football club.

What role? He was on the GWS board. Is he looking for a post on our board? Is he a possible presidential candidate? If Green is pres then does Bartel fill Green's old board role by looking after all of the club football?

What an odd post.

You'd be a strong advocate for him, but have heard mixed things?

What is going on today? Demonland is bizarro world.

"Dnalnomed!"

Sorted.

Um excuse ignorance but why???

He's probably referring to his split from Nadia.

Aside from that, you would imagine he'd be a great get for the club.

Three time premier with a brownlow under his belt do not grow on trees.

I rate Jimmy, was hoping he could be enticed to take Brad Lloyd's role at Princes Park 😁

Would be handy to have at the Dees ...

If Jimmy doesn’t make the cut could we employ Nadia to help Brand Petracca?

Why would anyone be dirty on him for splitting with Nadia? 🤨

He’s just incapable of keeping it in his pants whether in a relationship or not, hence the comment about probably not wanting him involved with your sister or your daughter. Never come across a bloke with an eye as wandering.

Which has absolutely zero bearing on his ability to do his job well.

This would be the most important signing of the off season if it happens.

I agree, unless of course we found a star somehow but outside of pick 5, it’d be my next!l if we pulled it off.

Interesting.

What's interesting? Just more negativity. Bartel would improve the club. No doubt.

Jimmy's punctuation is spot on, apparently....

I'd trust Mach on this one...

Make no mistake, we will hear an announcement on Bartel’s future, in the near future. #ETdoesitagain. #WhatHasETheard?

et GIF

Probably my favourite non Melbourne player, and he's built a good off field acumen since retiring. He'd be a great get in either a leadership or footy admin role. Make it happen Dees!

He’s leadership would be immense

Is that future at the Dees?

Would love Bartel involved at the Dees. He’s footy IQ and leadership would be a huge addition. And he’d help with culture.

Add also with Sloane, Bassett & Teague.  That’s a good group to replace McQualter, Stafford and Plunkett.

A Geelong mole to get them Clarry?

Glad I'm not the only one thinking this way.

The last one was Byrnes, and somehow during his time with us the Cats came across the intel about us taking Max Holmes so they sneaked in front of us to steal him. Then he heads back to Geelong and they win the flag.

I wouldn't be giving them any more opportunity to pick up IP from us.

It's pretty stupid though don't you think?

Don't get an ex player from another club because they might steal intel?

It's only the Cats, they're cheating in every way they possibly can in my view, and it goes back a long way. Fords, farms, now Cotton On.

Have a look at Ablett. Could barely get on the park in the end at the GCS. Gets back to Geelong and all of a sudden he's fine. I think his shoulder strapping even disappeared after a while. Was clearly playing dead to get back to the Cats.

They've been into Clarry for years, I wouldn't put it past them to offer him a contract and say play dead for 12 months and we'll pick you up on the cheap. That's my level of distrust for that club.

If the comment was made for every single club, then yes, that would be stupid.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
