Can't be said he wasn't handy/v good at points last year, so there's that to be thankful for.

For whatever reason, fitness included I guess, there was little value this year and lots of mystery. I'm guessing the mods will be all over this one today haha, but yeah see ya! Not sure he truly ever lived up to his potential, but he's not alone in this respect.

Thankful for the spot this frees up, and the (hopefully) renewed, laser focus on success/new starts next year.

I think this is another step in the right direction, in this case out the door.

apparently he stopped jj cementing his spot as a spare parts player for us as opposed to a hard tag half forward for the bloods

we gave up nothing for him fwiw

good player, not a great player

Helped us in 2023 by providing a useful wing option. Actually averaged 3 more touches a game than Langdon.

His game against Carlton in the semi was underrated IMO.

But yeah, clearly went on one year too many, and never got started after that calf issue.

Probably won't go down as a Demon great.

Hardly Hunter's fault the coaches didn't rate Jordon.

Good player and good luck to him in whatever comes next, but from the perspective of our list management, this is a good result for the club and our fans. Another spot free for draftees or trade target.

He clogged our list playing the most insipid brand of soft, slow, zero kicking penetration, miles out the back footy you’ll ever see for one year and then doing nothing in the second year.

Strangely went ok in the finals considering what he served up week to week.

I don’t hate him, and I have no evidence to suggest he wasn’t professional during his time at Melbourne, but I hate the decision to get him. It was a move in the complete wrong direction from what we needed.

Was a smart pickup in 2023 and gave us a genuine winger opposite Langdon, allowing Brayshaw to move back into the middle. This year age, injury and who knows what else got the better of him, but thanks for pulling on the red and blue.

LH, congratulations.

On a side note however,

”Lachie Hunter calls his time at the take red blue take a look a look back at his time at the club.”

MFC app.

Who is responsible for this rubbish?

Quality matters, even in the Office.

MFC, please employ people with at least Grade 4 ability.

Where does that leave us list spot wise and how many spots?

Schache.
Brown.
Hunter.
Tomlinson.
Brayshaw? (possibly supplanted by Kentfield)

Think can add Smith and KFW to the list and Hore is still in limbo. So I think we currently have 6 spots to fill with a call to be made on Hore.

That’s assuming we don’t resign Tommo

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
