some more afternoon games would be good for mr 5yo

100% we'll be back at taxpayer park

personally id prefer they released the whole fixture in one go.

id prefer we actually played them with a bit of fire in the belly and a bit of aggression rather than being softer than a bag full of marshmallows left next to a fire

Id like a trip to Tasmania, purely for an away trip.

I would also not like to play a SA team in Gather Round

I'm with you. Hard to take kids on 3.20pm starts and night games, few early afternoon games would be good. And no Geelong trip with Collingwood going there for once would be nice.

Dees now on the nose

14th place gets us in the Sunday schedule

🎓Home game v Pies for Kings Birthday

🎓Away game v Tigers on Anzac Eve

🎓Alice springs game

likely fixture to include

👻“round negative 1”… versus someone else

👻Play Cats at GMHBA Cattery

👻Dockers have asked the AFL to play MFC 5 times next year

👻Home game v Giants at 1.10pm on Mother’s Day

👻Home game v Suns at 1.10pm in July

media to run stories in Dees low home game attendance

👻Sunday game to be followed by an “away game on Thursday night v Port Power”

👻Home game during Adelaide-fest magic round weekend at Mt Barker v Eagles on Sunday at 12.45pm

👻Away game v Lions in round 1 during March with 95% humidity

and more shafting by the AFL

1) No game in Geelong - but I know we'll be back there.

2) A variety of Home game timeslots (aside from the Pies/Richmond holiday games) - 1 Friday night, 3 Saturday arvo, 1 Saturday twilight, 1 Saturday night, 1 Sunday at 1pm, 1 Sunday 3:20pm.

3) Punt the Alice Springs game and transfer it to Marvel. (Not happening but I can wish)

4) Play Collingwood and Freo once.

5) Play a neutral game at Gather Round, although ironically we've beaten the SA team and lost the neutral game.

6) 7 interstate trips instead of 8 but I know that won't happen because of Alice.

7) Play GC at the MCG for the first time since 2018.

Points 1, 3 and 6 are no hope.

And lastly, this year they had a number of 4pm games on Foxtel in the first 10 rounds of the year. I'd expect us to get a couple of these next year.

I'm pretty certain the club will have been burnt to the ground by an angry Italian before we get a chance to look at a fixture.

At least if we don’t exist we can’t lose

This is the list of teams in order of the difficulty of their fixtures based on position at the end of the home and away series. If we recognise that the draw is supposed to reflect where the the teams finished at the end of 2023.

It would be nice to avoid Fremantle. Guaranteed we play Geelong at GMHBA stadium, I also won’t be surprised if we get GC in Darwin. It’s hard to see it being a good fixture for exposure.

You are wrong about the Anzac Eve game. It’s Melb turn to be host.
Most of your other contrived tips are way offline, some are a joke only.

Others will disagree but I hope we're not involved in Opening round next year, particularly against Sydney.

I think the club needs to try and fly under the radar early next year rather than play on the prime time opening Thursday night, where if we lose the media will find the earliest opportunity to sink their boots in.

Therefore an ''off Broadway" winnable 1:10 game against a West Coast or Gold Coast at the MCG in round 1 proper would be an ideal way to start the season and get the club feeling good again.

I also hope we don't cop a tough first 3 weeks against contenders, without Kozzie.

I don't pay attention to the fixture releases. Whatever it will be will be and then I'll complain about it when the games come around.

Has that stinking club ever played a game in The Apple Isle?

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
