No true small forward! Kozzy better than Moore everyday of the week.

I disagree. Love Kozzie but Moore has kicked one less goal and has Kozzie covered in just about every other stat

Two mids on the half forward flank. Yeah Heeney does kick goals but come on.

I - Whitfield, Neale, Treloar, Butters

Happy for Treloar, he's been huge this year

Max now one of only 10 players picked 7+ times

How on earth does Zorko and Ryan get AA honours. Selectors have no idea

Fantastic Max! A bit of sunshine in our current dark days. Best ruck of all time

GAWN HAS TO BE CONSIDERED AS ONE OF THE GREATEST RUCKMAN TO HAVE EVER PLAYED THE GAME.

CERTAINLY IS MELBOURNE’S GREATEST RUCKMAN

Otherwise, can’t decide what’s more egregiously wrong:

- Ryan and McGovern both selected over Andrews

- Waterman selected over Curnow and Stengle

No. He is the greatest.  Simon Madden next but did more work as a forward.  As a pure ruckman Max has no peer.

Absolute legend and arguably the best player in the comp over the past 5 years. Looking forward to his next 3 - 4 years.

Congrats to big Jesse and turning his career around.

Really do miss him.

Superb Max ty.

In such illustrious company now with 7.

Very few can claim that mantle.

We will be able to tell our grandkids that we were privileged to watch the Great Max Gawn play. What a legend.

Waterman over Curnow is ridiculous.

Massive congratulations - I desperately want him to get a 9th and another flag, he'll be a AFL legend after that. That's where I think he sits. ( I think he is already, just he'll need those stats to get through the bias against anything Melbourne).

Instead of floating stupid ideas like Wildcard round why doesn't an AA 2nd team even come close to getting a go?

Not really.

Curnow is over rated and yet to really prove himself - when it counts. Good player, thats all.

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
