North beat the Hawks

Saints beat Carlton

Lions beat Essendon

All we need is a 100pt win against the pies..

Sparrow seems the most likely (and maybe only) omission at this stage. AMW had 35 touches in the VFL so I imagine either he or Laurie will come in as straight swap.

May for Tomlinson?

Can't see Jefferson getting a cameo, much as it will pain some here.

May doesn’t need to play. All I need is for some [censored] from Collingwood to pull another serious injury move on him.

Beating the filth next week will make summer more bearable.

If Collingwood win today this won’t be a dead rubber for them.

I’d therefore almost prefer it if they do knock off Brisbane. Would give us some good motivation, and another 10,000 to the crowd.

Earlier today I thought BBB might get a final goodbye game after kicking 6 in the VFL.

After this afternoon's result I'm not sure there's a spot for him - perhaps as sub? But given we probably have to replace Sparrow, it's not exactly like for like.

I must admit that I have a fantasy of Benny coming on at the 10 min mark of the last quarter and kicking the goal after the siren to beat the Filth.

Nonetheless, it will definately be Nibblers last game. It would also be good to get some clarity on Melksham and McDonald too because they both deserve good send-offs if this is their last game (though tbc I think they should both get 1 more year).

They still look better than us as the 3/4 time siren against the lions goes.

Our midfield looks better without poor old battered and bruised Oliver in it.

Who knows, maybe we’ll kick 10 goals from clearance again (even though it’s an irrelevant stat apparently).

I suspect both Milkshake and Tmac will play one more year. 🤞🏻

The whole backline goes up a notch with May as the anchor and driving standards.

Agreed. Which is why I don’t want to see Cox drive a knee into his back next week and watch him lose a kidney.

In: 40,000 missing Demons members

Out: Getting rolled by the Pies over the last few years

The boys should be looking forward to driving a nail into Collingwood’s faint finals chances.

I would give Hunter his 200th and farewell game next week, on the strict proviso he makes Maynard and Moore know he was out there and if possible legally of course, fixes up Maynard.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
