This is why you sign your guns up long term

This us most likely a beat up with a little bit of truth to it

the media love trying to divide the club as it’s very easy. just look at the ‘supporters’ on this thread

Where there is smoke.

Look at how easy it is for Tom Morris to send ‘you’ into a frenzy! Fact check required… then resort to common knowledge!!

Interesting James brayshaw on his show this afternoon gave a shout out to trac & said he's battling a bit.

Not sure if he got that news from Gus, but I wonder how much the club have kept in contact with him throughout his injury.

Get a hold of yourselves DLanders. You should know how the media works by now… Petracca is a future captain of this club, who has a lucrative contract. This is the short summary of what Morris has to say on the issue… “Petracca would leave the club tomorrow if he wanted to”. Get a grip, don’t be on the Media drip!

Thanks waynew, there are a lot of loose cannons on DLand who thrive on any piece of negativity so many want to put their boots into the club. The so called Press have been after us all year, that’s why I stopped buying the news papers and avoid Footy Classified, SEN and a number of other outlets. Hopefully the club will sit down with Christian and resolve Tom’s concerns and I am sure that each player will be given the opportunity to put forward any issues that are causing concern at their exit interviews in two weeks time.

These are the types of opportunities that help force change.

Make the most of it.

One thing you could bet your house on is that Simon Goodwin and Alan Richardson would have driven over to Tracs house tonight to talk all this through. Probably big Max as well.

I think Jesse hogan summed up morris in a tweet he wrote.

But I thought trac would be itching to get back & play with these young kids

So potentially within the span of 12 months

Brayshaw - retired

Oliver - linked to Adelaide

Viney - linked to North

Petracca - possibly requesting a trade

What the bleep has happened to this football club?

Management and FD assistants

It's only a rumor until Tracc asks for a trade. So not worth worrying about it until/if that happens.

Likely other clubs have been in his ear.

Absolutely. There's been smoke there for a while but delusional supporters still don't want to believe that there is nothing wrong with the club.

The footy department have the biggest 3 months ahead since the pre Paul Roos appointment in getting the right people in the door through the door whether thats coaching or recruitment.

There are a number of factors why there are players that are currently unhappy, but when it's your star player, you take on his feedback and do whatever it takes.

Gut the place, and put some fresh voices around our team and give them a game plan that is going to play to their strengths that will stand up in finals and win.

On Sat night during the game the camera panned to Petracca several times sitting on his own at the back of a bay somewhere.  Couldn't help but wonder why he wasn't in the coaches box.  My 'spidey sense' said all may not be right so I'm not surprised that others who noticed that footage thought similarly.

It doesn't mean there is a major issue that can't be worked out.  Hold fire.  Stick fat.

Would get some great draft currency and setup up our rebuild. Not saying I would trade, but if unhappy- then so be it.

So long as there is a clean out along with it, yep, wouldnt be the worst case scenario. When I say clean out I mean total clean out, Id have renewed optimism with a new coach, president, CEO and some sexy picks for Jason Taylor to pick the eyes out of the draft with.

Hate losing Trac and sad that it would have to come to this to bring about the change we desperately need, but its better than the "trade first round picks for Dan Houston and still think we can win a flag under a coach who is happy kicking 65 points a game" plan

I’m going to be in the minority of minority here but if these reports are true I’m unimpressed with Trac’s attitude.  It’s giving massive ‘I’m more important than the collective’ energy

And don’t bother with the outraged replies I know I’m alone in this

Not saying tis isn’t true, but if you are going to say stuff like that I’d be keen to know what these specific changes required are?

Anyone can go on a forum and say general statements. I’m definitely not one who thinks it’s all rosy, but just trying to understand who the problem people are if it isn’t the senior coach.

Tim Lamb has created a mess -  7 years for Clarry who wasn't meeting standards, got cheap and didn’t throw $1m at Jackson straight away, long term deal for concussion history Brayshaw, Grundy trade in and then trade out to premiership contender, doesn’t retain Bedford, Jordan or Hunt but brings in rejects Shake, Hunter, Billings and McCadam…….  Bloke has a big trade period ahead if he’s to undo this mess.

I'm with you DG, unlike the Oliver stuff we can sell high on Trac

Obviously using Norf as leverage for his next contract.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
