Goodwin was handed the reins to a club that was on the up thanks to Paul Roos and some solid recruiting. All of the above coaches (apart from Longmire) came into clubs that were heading south.

We must prioritize a better list supported by a better (creative and adaptable) coach, team of coaches/trainers, player attitudes and skills. Already, it is three years too late. Let us not have a fourth year of expectant misery.

Not disagreeing, but two of the main reasons why fitness can be down are:

- missed training/pre-season/matches through injury etc

- younger players who have limited pre-seasons and haven't built up the deep stamina you need at AFL level

There's not too many out there who don't fall into one of those two categories.

I’m all down for getting a better list and I definitely think our trades recently have been questionable, but that’s not on the coach.

Yep. Goody I think is a good head coach, but we need to change up our assistant coaches I think. We need the best tactical coach we can find who can communicate from up in the box. Stafford also has to go, we need a genuine forward coach. Chaplin I’m not sure about, but we have been one of the best defensive sides so would be harsh to move him on but fresh eyes may be needed.

What these last 3 years have shown we keep playing 21 football and it is showing how bad our skills and run are, when they tried to change it the players were unable to implement because of those deficiencies and now we have gone back to 21 football, big changes are needed to improve moving forward.

Speed and skills and we are missing one other ingredient football decision making, we have some but not enough they are to quick to dish off and put other players under pressure.

That’s such a ridiculous argument.  I mean by 2013 Hawthorn only had 9 of their 2008 premiership list still playing.  It just happened they were all absolute A-graders which is what premiership teams are built around. 

Same with us. It was actually 10 players and included Max, Tracc, Viney, Salem, Brayshaw, and Oliver.  Also Jesse Hogan who turned into May and Sparrow.   That was the core of a premiership list.   Also included Hibberd, Harmes, TMac, and ANB, as well as Joel Smith and Hunt that were injured, and of course Jones.  

Goody had a lot of A-graders and top 10 draft (and top 3) picks to build premiership team with.

There’s also ‘overtraining’ which may not have happened as a result of this year alone, however the cumulative effect of 3-4 years of the most taxing gameplan could certainly do it.

I have been pretty convinced we have been going about things in a fashion that’s far more difficult than it needs to be.
