I would not have Bowey or Kolt down as speedsters.  They go ok but not up there with the likes of Moniz & Caleb imo.

Should've gone harder to keep Bedford and personally felt we should've retained Hunt who played a strong part  in us winning silverware in 2021 during the H&A segment.

I would, each to their own. Bowey is quicker than most and Kolt is powerful and has topped our speed charts in offence and defence at least once this year, which puts him as one of our quicker players.

Has anyone else noticed that we have lost almost all the real speedsters off our list in recent years ?

This has happened when genuine leg speed is a very valuable commodity.

Jeff Garlett was probably cooked so no great loss.

Sam Frost would probably get a game with us today.

Oskar Baker - probably Casey material.

Toby Bedford- would be very, very useful.

Jayden Hunt would also be very handy as a line breaker.

Maybe the BT doesn't value speed.

Wow. Just wow.

Thinking this is a troll account

None of those players listed are any good.

The FD probably just favours guys who can play.

Jayden Hunt would be in our back 7 each week.

Having a far better season than Salem and Bowey.

Could do very well in West Coast B and F Having a really good season.

I think we are actually getting quicker by design. Jordan and Harmes were both good endurance 2 way runners but were not quick.

Rivers has really quickened our midfield mix, and Koz does the same when he's in the middle.

Woey is also no slouch, and Nibbler shows bursts of speed.

Windsor and AMW are jets, and could be real weapons as they mature.

I think the original post focuses too much on quick players, rather than quick players who are quality players.

Frost is getting a game in a team playing much better than us at the moment. He'd be well ahead of Lever this year.

Hawthorn's defence is worse than ours - look at points against. Yes, they are playing better than us  but they have not lost their two top players. Go back a couple of weeks to our narrow loss v Brisbane - compare that to anything Hawthorn has done.

Your comment about Lever is a joke, I take it. It can't be a serious comment. Yes, I know he was terrible last week but that is one game.

We lost Grundy, Jordan, Harmes and Dunstan as well - none of them I’d call quick

Windsor and Tholstrup both quicker than any of those guys

Doesn't mean we couldn’t do with a few more with genuine leg speed but I’m not sure you’re on the right track here CF

Zero hanger said the gps speed ratings of all AFL players in every game show that Kade Chandler has hit the fastest speed in the AFL this year @ 35.2 kmh.

Which is a 9.77sec 100m if he sustained it (but I'm not saying he could sustain it!)

Isn’t Jed Adams the team speedster?

True NC he did represent us in the Grand Final sprint last year which was a bit surprising.😁

So important and it’s what makes Windsor so damn good. He’s not only quick but he thinks and executes quickly.
Clarry at his best has the fastest hands in the AFL. He disposes of the ball before most players can even think of what to do with the footy.

Speed is good. Speed that leads to turnovers is useless.

No.

Of the listed players, only Bedford should still be with us.

Wouldn't want any of them currently except Bedford.

Demonland with a bunch of sock puppet accounts keeping the clicks up. Why oh why did we let Bedford go?

100%

If people want to watch lane runners then the next two weeks in Paris is for you!

Whilst i don't agree with this thread and i think our list is quicker overall than it has been in a long time i want to talk about Kolt who i like for alot of reasons especially his energy.

I keep seeing posters talk about his fast times in speed charts. I don't rate them.

As a long time punter on the horses, i can assure you the horses with the fastest sectionals of the day rarely win and then you think they will win next time because they galloped faster than the rest of the field or card but they don't.

Speed is relative.

Alot depends on the exertion of energy beforehand compared to the person you are racing against.

Kozzie last night showed true pace when he relentlessly made ground on whoever had the footy. I haven't seen the speed charts but it doesn't matter, in the moment, he was much quicker than anyone around him.

That is what is important.

I think this is spot on with another factor. I’m always surprised at who is the quickest in the GF sprint. You could probably throw a blanket over 50 afl players over a 40m sprint.  But give them a footy and I would expect some who are classic sprinters become plonkers.  They just lose all their power.  Kossie, Windsor, Hunt etc and others seem to be efficient with a ball in hand while plenty of others (say Chandler) who are super quick without a ball drop right back to the pack.
