Well they thrashed us last time & we had max. Now we don't.

However I'm hoping we've got our game back on track.

When I wake up tomorrow morning I want to wake up to a win please.

How long you planning on sleeping for?

The game won’t finish for another 17 hours.

Optimistic but realistic going into this one.

A tough game on paper.

So many unexpected results for many teams this year though.

I'm overseas so with the time difference by the time I wake up it will be over. Hopefully I wake up to good news

GAME-DAY?  More like…

GAME-YAY!

We’ve got this. We’ve got this so much, it hurts. Hurts the Dockers, that is 😜

Us by my boy Melks - 18 pts

CARNA MIGHTY DEES!!!

GIVE ‘EM HELL!!!

❤️💙🫶🏼❤️💙

Not showing off (except totes showing off so much it’s not funny) I got a video message from Melky yesterday. He is supremely confident (but not cocky or arrogant) about today. So rest at ease, fellow DL-ers and Demons tragics… if Melks is confident, so too should we be.

PS Red Bull and toothpaste don’t go together 😐

Don’t you ever sleep

YOLO! I’ll sleep when I’m dead 🤪

Thats actually a dumb saying. Folks who say this clearly haven’t grasped the concept of sleep, nor death 🙃

I slept for maybe two hours last night. Not staying in Perth tonight, got an 11:45pm flight home with Mrs Frittata. Neither of us will have slept in more than 24 hours so it’s a good thing *we’re gonna win today; it’ll make the trip home bearable.

*yeah, I said WE’RE GONNA WIN, coz we are K? K!

Mixing Red Bull and toothpaste should give you a clue.

Game day baby. Pumped!

Pressure all on freo. This is a free hit for us. Redemption baby.

Go Dees.

I always find it quite nice after a scotch

The young guys coming in has infused the team with some youthful energy. The boys will be confident and believe they can win. I think we'll deliver a performance. Not sure of a win but we will not capitulate this time.

Tough ask over there but its Freo we’re up against. They are liable to [censored] the bed. There's plenty of reason to be hopeful.

Heart says gutsy win, head says gallant 15-point loss

They’re a fully fit team with no best 22 injured, playing at home, a ruck combo against our no ruck, and their defensive structure of Pearce, Ryan, Cox, Clark) is probably the best in the league at the moment.

Dees by 12 points. 🔴🔵

I would like to say I'm confident but I'd be lying.

I've watched Freo of late and they're impressive team on the rise. They're starting to build some really good self belief within the team, not saying we aren't either, but seems that JL seems to have them finally connecting in all three lines of the ground

Freo at home this year have been hard to stop. Yes they lost to West Coast but I think like us they were just completely off their game. Their slingshot off half back and ability to move the ball at speed is what is winning them games this year. See the Sydney game where this was on display.

The Jackson/Darcy combo is another factor. Forget Draper, these two are miles ahead of him. It worries me that we're going to be putting more focus on JVR as a ruckman this week then we would initially like because Petty struggled to provide a solid contest when he was in there.

Can see this one going right down to the wire.

Go Dees.

Just keep building on the last few weeks and we are a big chance to win.

Petty broke Draper, now Darcy and Dogga’s turn.

Love the weekly enthusiasm SN34 💪

Only way I see us winning this one is evening up on clearance and it rain during the game to help stop their uncontested game.

Essendon lose

Collingwood lose

Geelong lose

Melbourne???

Perfect weekend if the Dees win

Talk about a season defining game.

Will be tough to win but finals birth for sure if we do.

Go Dees.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
