Contest, pressure, some younger, hungrier faces and up by 23 points at the GABBA ... enjoying this ... Carn the Dees! 😈

Well done dees fans at the game.  The Kozzie chant is coming through loud and clear through the TV!  Keep it up!

38 point turnaround. Let’s keep going boys!! Good marking from Turner and Petty. AMW some nice touches. Kolt lively again. Viney what a beast

Yes fatigue may happen in the last qtr for the young blokes but geeeeeeez this is exciting!

Viney is just unreal.
I forget how important he really is for us until he stands out like this. Never fails us when needed the most.

keep pushing lads!!!

Manic pressure and lions crumble

I'm seeing glimpses of 2021! I know most didn't pick the Dees to win tonight but I did. I thought after last week, a spark may have been lit. After the devastating week I have had, this is my only glimmer of joy this week.

Ugly as sin

What on earth is he chewing continuously?

The massive change has been our tackling pressure, and that's set off a chain reaction that has resulted in a turnaround in every other phase of the game.

The frontal contact on every Brisbane possession from Kolt, Chandler, Viney, and Kosi has absolutely flipped the script on the lions, turning them into the hunted ones and has allowed us to pressure their disposal and allow our defenders to defend ugly ball for a change. Then when we get it we're running in waves and seeing a real target in van Rooyen up forward. Fantastic stuff.

If Tholstrup’s ball hadn’t been touched and he kicked the goal it’d almost be game over.

I could not care about the result. I just want to see us keep cracking in, getting the ball forward and everyone playing for each other. This is a tiring way to play for a young side and they are a good side and will come. Let’s keep it up. Go Dees.

Rub their faces in it Dees

Amazing what pressure pressure pressure can do👏👏👏

We need to continue this into the 3rd quarter (obviously). The intensity has been unreal - it is what we have all been waiting for.

Frees so far

Brisbane - 9

Melbourne - 4

Don't go into our shells, keep up the positive stuff

Clarry running at 80% efficiency.

Fingers crossed he can keep it going till deep in the 4th

Zorko is the poster boy for Slovenia.

Stunted,Backwards and hostile.

I actually tiped this said we would win by 15 points, as long as we don't go into our shells in the second half have to keep attacking...

First quarter, having a crack. Switched on.

Second quarter, increase pressured and belief.
They are also starting to play for each other.

Anyone hearing that rough brisbane supporter in the crowd. I hope she looses her voice soon.

Fantastic quarter. Most fun ive had watching us in 6 weeks.

I hope to win but Brisbane will come - big ask to maintain this intensity for the whole game but just loving the intensity. Been terrific from the start. All I want to see.

Oliver with 15 disposals and a goal. Good thing we didn't drop a champion eh?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
