Clearly Butters has already won the Brownlow - he simply cannot buy a suspension. Corrupt AFL.

Maybe there is better footage than what I saw.  But I’d like to know why Berry didn’t get fined for staging. From the grainy footage I saw it looked like Butters gave him a pretty soft tap with his non preferred left arm as he ran past.  From Berry’s reaction you would swear he had Mike Tyson give him a brutal kidney punch.

While we are at it, why didn’t the Brisbane medicos cop it for not immediately sending Berry for scans at hospital.  He clearly could have had a ruptured kidney.

If he didn't grab his head he would have been fine.

I expect the media coverage will cause him the embarrassment & he won't be doing it again

it also means that next time he is clocked high, the maggots will remember and not reward him with a free

so one incorrect call will cause another

It set an appalling example to all the other players, especially the junior ones. It was a disgraceful act, the fine should have been a hell of a lot more

Our club needs to be better than this, little wonder that we are having the season that we are having, with players resorting to this kind of behavior. It is embarrassing.

True, but so do the players from other clubs doing it and some of them are having quite a good season.  I can understand MFC supporters being [censored] off when it gets ignored until it's us in the sights.

Steven May is lying on the ground - the ball is down around his knees.

He's expecting players to pile on top of him to force a stoppage.

So he brings his arm up to protect himself and his head.

So he's getting fined for protecting his head?

AFL is rigged.

And you my friend are living in Disneyland.

May got what he deserved, but has more than enough credits in the bank for me not to worry about.

Finally a serious question, why do so many supporters think there’s a conspiracy between the AFL& umpires against the MFC?

Im not being a smartarse, just really interested

Serious answer:  The conspiracy is not against the MFC per se (and some others), but in favour of where the AFL thinks the big $$$ are.  The overall effect may appear similar.

Did May stage for a free kick, yes. Do other players stage for free kicks, yes.

So why oh why do we always have to be front and centre for this type of media attention.

I am so sick and tired of media scum coming after our players and when other players do it it’s basically glossed over and forgotten about within 24 hrs.

The media do really pizz me off.  FFS FIND ANOTHER TEAM TO HOUND.

If May didn't stage for this free, the Ump would have paid HtB without a shred of Prior

Had a clear view and was watching the controlling Ump, it was obvious he was itching to pay HtB, clearly no prior, but was waiting the long slow theatrical wait, then I think got a call in the ear from another Ump

They were egging on North by that stage

So staging Yes, but better than alternative gift to North

Lethal hit the nail on the head on this one. Complete non issue

Yep. Mountain, molehill

Wouldn't have been noticed had the media not worked themselves in to a lubed-up frenzy.

Love the way Lethal smacked down Tom Morris last night. Morris talked like an excited child, Matthews talked with the wisdom of experience

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
