If Petty plays like this next week, he's at the point of being dropped.

I'm not sure we can keep carrying him.

I know it's harsh but one good game is not enough.

These commentators are hacks .

Time to play Jeffo

Macca has been absolute big ordinary. Has had 5 kicked on him. Just shocking.

well, may was on waterman to start the game but was rotated off him

Our midfield has been pantsed by a 9 gamer

Because may is soft... I mean better on a poorer opponent

So they move May on Waterman now?  WTF

[censored] Petty off.

Delist Billings mid year.

Send McAdam back to Adelaide with Petty.

Someone tell me how Salem is apparently immune to coming back through the VFL? Blokes been useless since the 2021 GF.

Smash in the midfield again.

Absolutely laughable that some on this site suggested they were going ok.

We won’t even make the top 8 with this midfield mix.

Sad but we have hit the heights and reckon it all over. When Gawn retires where totally cooked

Worst is that he won't play next week, I wouldn't be surprised if we lose against St Kilda.

Based on the performance today, and we'll have the excuse of the long flight to WA. You just know it.

I don't think your negative.

This is a game against third last.

We had the chance to be third top.

But we didn't want it.

I can't see us winning a flag.

Not because we lost but how we lost.

We have a midfield that hasn't shown up for quite a few now and without Lever apparently no backline and definitely no forwards other than Fritta and Kozzie.

It sure as heck isn't Petty, Brown or anyone else.

We will be lucky to stay in the eight.

I'm sorry but we all know it's true.

This team is shadow of 21 and even last year.

The imbalance of our list really showing. We clearly can't trust Fullarton and he's just another break in case of emergency list blogger like Schache.

How about we drop the Narrm shirt & drop the woke [censored] / sorry I'm meant shirt

For all the old MFC supporters we are actually the MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB circa 1858. We always welcome our first nation players. I played in the U19's but I don't

And please can we offer a monster contract to get Harley to the MFC

Oliver has some trade value

Please don't bother responding with the normal negative leftie [censored] because I don't read it, nor respond

what am i watching lol

We are the Western Bulldogs.

Got our flag like them, and failed to live up to expectation since. I could go on but will only be disappointed.

Both got some great players, will get their good wins, then deliver tripe when expected to perform.

Bevo and Goody both stubborn coaches too.

There is no dynasty here like Hawks, Cats, Richmond, Brisbane had.

Ho hum

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
