Our lack of composure off half back is frightening. If we fix this, our forwards look a class above their backs.

No complaining about the umpiring here. This is abysmal effort from us.

This. If not for their poor accuracy, this game would be over.

I don’t know what’s happened to us but we are definitely no premiership threat.

We are not good enough this season I fear.

Kozz 10 disposals @70%, 1 goal, 2 score involvements, 4 tackles but yeh he’s the problem guys..

Salem's disposal has been far worse and yet he's still built up as this elite kick.

Midfield plain and simple. They get it and go fast, we get it and wait for numbers to clog our forward line before we proceed.

Been our best by a mile only one in our team with pace

You just know Viney is going to turn it over when he gets it.

Viney right foot is an automatic opposition inside 50

We deserve to be down forty points.

Some accurate shots at goal have kept us in it.

We shall see if we want a flag very soon I guess.

Umps have been all over the shop. Again.

Billings needs to get going.

Kozzie a ball magnet but needs to hit some more targets.

Jvr better than Bbb.

Rivers and Salem been good.

Bowey is one of our bravest players about.

He can't kick on his right foot.

He's an AFL footballer with 200 games experience, get a better result in that situation.

At this rate barely making the numbers, lucky if we can finish 7th or 8th.

The non free kick against Reid for holding the ball really annoyed me. Thats holding the ball against 99% of players.

You can’t adjudicate the rules differently because you want him to keep taking the game again. Thats not how it works.

Disagree can’t stand them, they have no idea.

how do you stop a sling tackle? Blow the f%%%%ing whistle early.AFL has no idea how to adjudicate to stop injuries.

Yes we [censored] the bed, but stuff the umpires too

Midfield smashed once again. I don’t give a rats about stats, but our midfielders and flankers have no idea how to win a contest, play a system that results in marks and goals and we spend all of our time chasing the opposition.

if the opposition is able to use their system and have good skills, we are lost.

Only 13 points down so well in this game.

gotta sort out our clearance work and our disposal

Trac looks like he could grab this game for us and get us home.

come on dees. you can do it.

Is Reid just allowed to try to break tackles?

The Age blog is saying HTB officially dead

Goodwin should query it in the presser - open question - “we need to talk to the AFL to understand the obvious rule change which was not communicated to us that here’s no holding the ball. We all need to change our training. Because Harley Reid should have been pinged numerous times . So the rule has changed or he Kompramat on the umpires”

Ross L might do that but not us (sadly , because it’d be very funny. We’re too nice)

McAdam is Garlett 2.0. He'll kick 5 goals when we pump teams by 10 goals but he'll get found out against decent opposition.

At the moment everyone is being found out

The tag of Salem of being an elite kick is one of the most overrated things going on in footy.

Example A was him having the time and awareness in the centre to hit up a simple lead up forward and instead it goes over our forwards heads.

Ok. We get it.

Are you always this negative on game day? It’s wild.

BBB was just an illusion, his start of the season. The guy can't keep his body right for a half season of footy.

This is a very poor effort. The wjole attitude of the side needs to improve greatly afte 1/2 time.

That was pathetic.

Hopefully we get a rocket and the boys come out remembering that we’re supposed to be a top 4 side.

Not interested in the complaints about the umpiring. It’s not why we’re losing, not why we’re kicking everything straight to them. Not why a first year player is creaming us in the middle.

Need to be better, a lot better, and beyond this, work out why we’re such a frustrating, inconsistent team with wildly significant differences between our best and worst.

This is shizen

Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
