GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

Recommended Posts

Kozzi, Salem, Viney all solid

we started to get our structure right in the last 7-8 mins

itll come.

Brown needs to aggressively attack the ball not just wait for it.

and we generally need to go in harder and win contested footy at stoppages

What's with all the no HTB calls?

It’s been horrid all round. AFL making a mess of the rules again with random interpretation changes mid season

Well we had a chance to recruit McKay or Curnow, yet we decided to draft Weideman.

Thanks for the history lesson

Eagles have done at least 4 incorrect disposals / throws not penalised.

And why do the umpires  try to coach?  If thee is a block, penalise it and the message will get through.

Really think it's time to go past Ben Brown.  Hope he proves me wrong for the rest of the game but I think he is cooked.

If the rest stopped kicking it behind him or over his head he’d look better

A very useless comment to make 9 years down the track  🙄

Try being St Kilda

Not that far behind on the scoreboard and plenty of time left in this. We'll still win from here, but there are some serious problems we need to address if we're going to compete for a flag again this year and the next few. Our midfield has been horrible this year. Horrible. Our forward line doesn't have the right personnel, but the midfield does them no favors.

Are you sure?

Harley Reid alone could tear our midfield apart. Same old [censored], poor centre clearance.

With all the supply their forwards are going to get it looks dire.

Why do we lose first quarters so often.

There is something wrong with our game prep for sure.

The lazy kicky to players is killing us.

Some of these blokes need a rocket up them  during the break.

Salo first game back excellent.

We don't deserve top 4, the way we are playing and the luck some of the other teams have (see Port and Collingwood). We will be lucky to play finals.

Unless things change drastically we are not a contender this season, simple as that.

not simple as that at all

3 weeks ago Giants and Cats were unbeatable and flag favourites

when we win this game we will be third

I read your posts and I want to contact the boss of Guinness Book of World Records. If there's a record for relentlessly posting "we're doomed, we're doomed, don't you know we're doomed" posts, surely you've just surpassed it El Diatribe.

Have you thought about one per quarter?

It mostly comes back to the mids getting some two way running into their game and hitting targets as we transition forward with some speed on the ball.

The stop and prop possession / momentum game is a killer for forwards and there's no need for it unless you ARE needing to arrest momentum later in a game or icing / protecting a lead.

Viney needs to get more accurate in general.  Massive turnover king this season which is killing many of our transitions forward.

Petty down into the rooms for unknown reasons. Brilliant. He's made of glass sadly.

Sparrow on the wing like it’s 2020.

No cohesion with the forwards.

May and Gawn giving nothing.

Oliver coughing it up. No cohesion with Viney, Oliver and most of the mids.

Shes going to get ugly

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well …

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
