A win gets us a game clear in the top 4, takes a big scalp, and hopefully gives us good confidence for next week and a tricky month ahead.

A loss sees us slip behind the top sides, will have Demonland baying for blood, and will be extra frustrating given it’s Geelong.

A loss in a close game wouldn’t bother me too much.

Cats are humming, but we still need a few things to click into place. And if I’m being realistic, I’m not expecting those clicks to all happen this evening.

Do people who make these super optimistic predictions ever get them right?

Love the idea of it, but it’s not exactly tracking in that direction.

Dangerfield being out gives Melbourne a real chance tonight. Carn the Dees!

Bummer about last night, No. 31.
I’ve spent half my waking hours since last night’s result consoling my fam and friends. They’re like you… genuinely wanna see us do well.

I hear your WCW.

My contempt for the team in white and black is in the stratosphere! I can spare some positivity to other teams I generally don't like.😅

tell ya what an insipid performance like last week will see us getting torn a new one , need to be intense right from the start

Ill advised as this comment may be, I'll go with it anyway....  😱

I saw a stat a few days back that said that of the games we have lost since early 2020, only two games have been by more than 25 points.

So basically, even if we are playing average (and there definitely has been periods of that particularly mid-year), we dont often get flogged, we are invariably always in the contest and just a quick burst of good footy away from being right back in it and/or taking the game away from the opposition.

Have faith 😎

Come on OD a bit of confidence.

Get your man Vander to fire up. 3 goals tonight is the minimum. Holding a few marks might help as well.

It is such a great feeling now, going to any game knowing we have a good chance of winning. The Premiership in 2021 changed everything - I am generally much more relaxed about footy in general.

I can't see the Cats attack being as potent as it has the last 7 rounds. Our defensive organisation rarely allows teams more than 80 points, often under 65.

Sparrow to run with Myers.

Petty to run with Stewart.

Kozzie, Chandler & Fritsch will be our major goal scorers.

It’s time for our Midfield to turn it on.
no excuses, no more learnings.
Turn it on, work together

We are driving in in 30 minutes time, first time I have felt nervous all week, mind I have steered clear of the Game Day thread until now. Think this one is going to be super tough, hoping for a comfortable 17 point win but 1 point will do the trick. Go Dees.!!!!

Rather confident we get this done. Around 16 points.

HUUUGE night for a certain 17yo girl who’ll be sitting in the cheer squad in between Pauline Fritsch and me at tonight’s game.

Jade has cerebral palsy, she communicates by typing on her iPad, has a feeding tube, walks in a slow, laboured way, and is a massive Dees fan, absolutely adores 31, as she refers to him. We’ve taken her to AFLW matches without incident but until now we weren’t sure if she was ready for a men’s match. Pauline and I have been planning for the perfect opportunity since early last year and tonight’s the night!

She doesn’t know she’s going. We’re not telling her until just before the match. She will absolutely lose her mind! 🥰

So if you see a diminutive girl with an away jumper with 31 on the back in the cheer squad… that’s Jade. ❤️💙

PS: Jade was told she needed braces. She got them last week and what colour braces did she choose? Red and blue (of course)!

Heart warming story WCW.  C’mon Dees, a few more ‘one percenters’ (in honour of Jade), will get us over the line tonight.  ❤️💙

Hope we win. Fore the sake of my enjoyment tonight hope they’ve set themselves for this game and they are a bit fresh. Presume they were not last game knowing they would get the win against a weak side. Over the marathon season in the end it won’t matter any more than other games.

we will look clunky at times as we put more energy into defensive set up than offensive. We will turn it over exhausted from this process but we won’t (hopefully) let the cats score any where as easily as the blues did. A goal saved is worth just as much as a goal scored.

at times media and us get carried away with teams moving the ball accurately and kicking goals with grace like Essendon blues but we not leaking 100 points line those teams do in the same match. We are the only team to twice this year double there opponents score not that the media say that .

grind them down dress kill ‘em in red time. Get the win and make my night!!!

Think I might even wear my Navy Blue Demons polo top when watching the game on tv tonight.

(*does NOT include Geelong or Adelaide ... i really loathe the Adelaide Crows and am ambivalent about Geelong the team despite liking Geelong the city) 😁

Officially going to be pancakes for dinner.

Based on the theory that there is a finite amount of laziness in the world, I'm generously donating my personal allocation of diligence and motivation to Jacob Van Rooyen, to ensure his up the ground and back again and turning up everywhere to make life miserable for Tom Stewart.

Anyway, I dislike Geelong. You kind of have to respect them, but I can't see any argument for liking them.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
