"They still own the MFC"?

What, because of their *checks notes* one consecutive win against us?

FFS, if that's an "owning" what the [censored] was what Hawthorn, Geelong and North Melbourne used to have over us?

(PS do we now "own" Richmond, having won five in a row?)

C’mon Titan, you can do better than that.
that above comment is not worth responding to. We have had issues with Brisbane for a number of Seasons and you know it

The Saints will be smacked tonight

Port downhill skiers

50 pt win coming up

The footy should be good this weekend.

How good is it knowing your team has banked 4 points and teams your don't like have already played. Looking at you essendon and collingwood and neither banked the win.

no one watching?

Port look far from convincing so far

This game is almost as unwatchable as the first half of our game on Wednesday night.

Saints trying to give Fremantle a run for most boring team in the AFL.

I read today that Hinkley has coached Port for 12 seasons and in that time they’ve never, in any season:

Had a winning record against top 4 teams, and

Only had ONE season with a winning record against other top 8 teams.

The very definition of downhill skiers.

shocking inaccuracy from Port. Really hope it bites them come the final siren.

They are crazy statistics. For all flack Goodwin has copped at times at least we stand up against the good teams (most of the time).

some of st Kilda's handball chains are comical. They are a very average football team.

… and not coming close to Freo. 🥱

Not while Mitchito Owens is playing!

Also Brad Hill is being called “Hill” not “Brad Hill” by the commentators. This is sure to befuddle @Winners at last 😅

saints not getting much from the umpires.

Wow Saints getting cruelled by a conpletely diff interpretation of the rules between the two teams so far.

That PITB and the one against Pepper about the only ones they've called out of at least 5 to 6 others they've chosen to ignore.

Oh and that soft sling

Brisvegas done for the year, even more convinced they took advantage of our weakened condition the other week.

Flat track bullies, lucky to finish 7th or 8th.

Saints need to get it into their 50 alot quicker.

The Power one of the 4th worst rated team at defending their 50 and the 2nd worst at ground level just behind North

Is Phillipou worth going for him?

He may be a very good fwd down the line, I'd bet he'd rather be out of St Kilda.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
