Though I know not your name, lone Demon, nor from whence you come, I salute thee....

I hope he didn't drive to the ground. Car would have been trashed if it had one of those little Demon stickers on the number plate!

He does appear to have positioned himself quite selectively, towards one end of the spectrum of their cohort...

Compare and contrast with Bayley's and Ben's backdrops...

Apparently zombies aren't into eating opposition supporters if they're suffering from any kind of viral illness like the flu, covid, chicken pox etc as they know it's not good for their health.

Get well soon lone Demon!

Dad and me always sit amongst the Crows/Port supporters in the Eastern Stand level 3 or 5 and have never really had any problems with them.

Perth and Brisbane we have had run ins with absolute twats.

Whatever happened to the "whoo-hoo-hoo" guy at Adelaide Oval? Wasn't he a cameraman or something?

He was a cameraman at Adelaide Oval. One of our own DL-ers has a brother who ran the AV at AO for some time and said that the mystery was no one ever knew if he barracked for the Dees or just let loose with the woo-hoo for S&Gs.

The Angels,Barnesy,Bon Scott ( Born in Fremantle).

The area has  contributed so much to OZ rock yet seemingly so little to human progress.

What a great pic and post.

So true.

Those crowd shots sent shivers down my spine.

Not a great advert for Gather round.

Poor man probably had to cheer the team on internally.

Edited by leave it to deever

On Saturday night I was giving out flags and giant heads etc. before the match. Towards the back of our bay I came across a “mixed marriage” couple, he a Dees man, her a Port gal. I said to him, “What happened here? You dropped the ball in the wifey stakes!” He said, “We’ve been together for 15 years and I’ve spent the whole time trying to convert her, now I’m just giving up.” I said to her, “And you’re fine to sit in a bay full of crazy Dees fans?” She said, “Have you SEEN Port fans??? I feel safer sitting with you guys!” 😂

Also, a family asked if there was any giant heads left. I brought the Chin head to them and said, “this is the last available giant head. But it’s by absolutely NO means the least. Chin is a much loved and respected young player and a future champ of our Club. The dad said, “I know, he’s my nephew.” And if there was any doubt, it was dispelled when I noticed the distinctive familial square jaw, even on the kids! 😁

I was worried for a while after Chin had drop in form last year but he is having a bumper season.

He and Nibbler , Kozzy are a dangerous trio up forward.

Without wanting to count eggs late or hatch chickens early one has to think our change in gameplan makes Kozzy and Chin far more dangerous now we aren't continually cutting the ball off on the wings and banging it back into a packed F50

This may be a good topic to raise in the Game Plans, Tactics and all that Jazz thread...

I know a few Scottish people that would be upset at me if I didn’t mention that Jimmy Barnes and Bon Scott were both born in Scotland.

If you're ever going to a Port V Dees game at AO, do sit in the top few rows of the river stand behind the right of screen goals.

It's half empty and mostly comprises families or 16-20 year olds who are on their phones all game and probably don't even realise they're at the footy.

I won't have that luxury again this Thursday as it's a likely a full house.

I fought Angels lived in heaven, that Barnsey was a Scoot, and Bon Scott's real mame was Bon Mot.

Never thought about it before, but the surname's a bit of a give-away.

Yep, and I’d add that the addition of BBB has been very important on that front as well.

The reason that lone Dees supporter can comfortably sit among those Port fans is that a South Australian led the practical development of penicillin.

You could almost start a weekly thread - Army tales or the like, I always enjoy your stories of who you met or what you observed from the cheer squad.

Anyway I’m going to mention this in the Kade thread, but I really feel he’s becoming a ANB 2.0, does so much defensive stuff, I actually worry when he looks like missing with a knee.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
