Pies a genuine chance to miss the 8. not just being 0-3 but how they are playing

its a beautiful thing

Listen to Ross Lyon pregame on Fox

He knew exactly who to target, and where to do it.
I know a lot of people don’t like Ross, but he is extremely sharp in his strategies

David Kind now jumping on the saints as how ‘amazing were they last night’

Were the saints amazing??? I thought Collingwood were awful more than Saints were good. Lots of saints goals came from Collingwood players making BAD errors that other top teams aren’t going to make.

He would be a great customer at Baskin and Robbins trying out a different flavour each month.

David King tipped St Kilda to finish in the top 4 on Fox Footy's first crack preview show prior to round 0.

Matthew Lloyd is the one that jumps on and off a team at the drop of a hat, particularly when it comes to the MFC.

Round 0 loss to Sydney - "Melbourne are finished"

Round  1 win over Dogs - "Melbourne are a genuine flag contender, don't worry about that"

Lloyd might be a flip flopper, but he's got nothing on King.

Just on us this season so far King:

  • pumped us up - don't sleep on the dees
  • days later on the season preview of first crack (before a game had been played) he picks us to miss finals
  • he then puts us back in his eight on the next first crack (which was after our round win over the dogs)

Don't worry, he's jump off the saints soon enough.

Saints mids are poo. Not a threat.

I thought he was pretty down on us from well before the first game.

I think the flip flopping would be a tactic. He's often quite irrational and bases he's opinion on teams based on 'feel'.

Even the fact that we're talking about him is a win for Mr. King.

But taunting Brisbane fans that they've only beaten the bottom team would be a perfect two-flavoured ice cream.

😋

Darcy in for Lobb at the Dogs. Our backline claims another scalp

Oskar B also gets a recall

Current standings of this thread's mini tipping comp (only chance I'll get to be on any leader board anywhere):

Equal top:

@Timothy Reddan-A'Blew, @dl4e

Equal third:

@whatwhat say what, @Bombay Airconditioning, @Master Chief

Now, c'mon Crows. For so many reasons.

It was always a goal!! 😁

I was at that game but a long, long way from the Harmes incident as we were seated in the top deck behind the Punt Road goals at the opposite end of the MCG.

Let me say without hesitation, without doubt and unequivocally that I can absolutely, cross my heart, 100% guarantee that by that late stage of the game I was so drunk I couldn't even see the other end of the ground but can confirm that indeed it was definitely a legitimate goal.

I have to admit I'm jealous of the dockers this year death riding the pies first pick. Early days but it looks like it will be a juicy pick for them.

Honestly that is a lot better than many would have feared. He looked in a very bad way when they showed a glimpse of him waiting to be loaded into the ambulance. Absolutely stone-faced.

Feels like it has been a rubbish start to the season for injuries.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
