Can’t argue with that headline

“One hit” likely cost us a Premiership. It has cost us a much loved Premiership Player.

Careful, you don't want to make the fanboys cry.

Why does the media love to hate on the Dees?

BS "journalism".

They don't want us winning another flag. Only their favourites are allowed. Collingwood, Carlton, Geelong......

Don't forget Sydney

Most musicians say they’d rather be a one hit wonder than a cover band..

Of course you can’t, all you’ve brought is negativity lately.

Because there’s just so much to be positive about at the moment hey !

They had the best team just about ever in 00 and won 1 flag.

We are half as good by comparison, that we haven’t made another prelim or granny doesn’t matter. It’s 1-1.

We made Prelim in 2018 don't forget also.

Silly.

One hit wonders miss finals the year after as opposed to following up with two top 4 H & A season finishes.

An honestly ridiculous take which stems from the unfair notion that we should win more than one flag with this list.

It’s an unreasonably high benchmark.

Any club who wins more than one is incredible. But that doesn’t mean winning only one is a failure. Winning flags is extremely hard and gets harder every year equalisation continues to be an AFL focus.

Try asking Brisbane fans how they feel having won 0 from 5 years of contending.

The sooner Melbourne fans and the media stop saying a second flag is “the minimum”, the better.

Our list has been continuously overrated by anyone who thinks we are a super team.

Agree...

Many on here have fallen for this one.

It's a good/very good list as you've pointed out, we were never a super/generational team.

To many holes.

Listening to Phil Davis numerous times on SEN, he has continually said that he thought Melbourne’s 2021 was so dominant that he assumed we’d be untouchable for 5 years.

There seems to be a significant misunderstanding between ‘forward connection’ and ‘goal kicking accuracy’

The latter is the biggest issue, for mine

Our repeat entry system generated very bad goal scoring opportunities. Constant kicks against from the boundaries compound issued with accuracies. It also stopped us using any slingshot style moves that create space in the forward line.

That doesn’t mean he was right, nor does it mean we’re a failure if we don’t win another premiership.

He likely didn't know of the festering sore that this club actually is. We have how many incidents now that are in the public sphere. I'd hate to think what it's like inside the four walls. Listening to them spout the word culture just makes me laugh now. We've just cooked the best list we're ever likely to have and no one's prepared to stand up and take ownership of the ****show we've all watched unfold. In fact they just keep telling us there's nothing to see, does anyone actually believe that?

If we don’t win another it would be the biggest fail I’ve ever seen for a team to not follow up. Dogs 2016 doesn’t compare as that was out of nowhere, Wc 2018 and Cats 2022 were end of era flags. Pies 2010 and Bombers 2000 would come close but both were unlucky with there timing with Lions and Cats been the dominant teams of the era. These last 2 years were there for us to win if we didn’t fall on our face and our window might now be over. That or we were never that good to begin with and just got lucky

So was ours...

No one expected us to play finals let alone win it.

Phil Davis also thought he was fit to play in the 2019 grand final!

The Giants are actually a great example of a super team that won nothing and have now retooled with arguably less overall talent but a team that’s in a great position to challenge again in the next few years.

What a load of absolute garbage. An other article for you negatives to froth at.

The Dogs finished 6th in 2015 the year before they won their flag, and were a $10 chance with bookies.

We finished 9th in 2020 and were $26 to win the flag.

Some of the catastrophising and hand wringing on here is extraordinary and just goes to show some people aren’t happy unless they’re miserable.

A lot of people would say Brisbane’s list is just as good as ours, if not better, but would you swap our last few years for theirs?

Flags are incredibly hard to win. We’ve been in the top 4 after every single round of the past 3 seasons bar one.

But listening to some on here you’d think we were bottom 4. Get a grip, seriously.

Sure going into 21 no one expected it but post has been a let down, dogs haven’t once finished top 4 under beverage in the home and away, no one could honestly think they should be a multi premiership team based on that, they probably have over achieved in even getting 1. This is about getting the most out of your self when you have the chance and in that regard this team has failed post 21
