Seriously though. Great appointment and welcome to Demonland.

It’s a perfect welcome to Demonland if you ask me

This Is Fine GIF by 100% Soft

When Yze walked in the door at the end of 2020, Clarry had just toured the Blues. Yze got the mids on side and sold them on what was needed. Maybe McQualter will have the same impact this year?

His connection with Mark Williams can surely  be a positive for the midfield and their delivery forward.

I think this works out well for all parties.

Yze gets the big gig, we get fresh eyes from a guy who’s been in the top job last season and whose been there during Richmond’s success. And he was their midfield coach so hopefully he can help our mids actually deliver it inside 50 properly.

Welcome!!

It might be good news but Goodwin has to listen to what they say.

It was reported here that Yze was heard at a function saying he wanted to attack through the corridor more and was held back by Goodwin.

jnrmac I am sure the FD wouldn’t have gone after McQualter if they (not just Goody) weren’t prepared to utilise his broad experience’s and the Yze overheard conversation is just more anti Goodwin hearsay.😁

He apparently said it publicly at a function.

But just look at the way we played. It's like there was Ebola in the centre corridor at times.

From today's Shun, we apparently have AMcQ 'in the mix', 'weighing up' him against T. Chaplin.

Unsurprisingly poor...

Do they mean as ‘senior assistant’?

Someone has to run the box. It’s either McQ or Chaplin.

No, definitely as I implied. Includes e.g. 'likely to sign this week' and headline is 'McQualter in Dees coach mix'.

This is wonderful news to have someone of this high quality come to the Melbourne Football Club!

Pretty much a straight swap for Adem Yze.

Welcome to the Demons Andrew McQualter! 🙂

Ha ha ha welcome to the nut house Andrew.

Bet u didn’t think u would be walking into this [censored] storm.

Pretty sure that was Harmes who said Yze wanted to play through the middle more but Goodwin didn’t allow it.

Apologies as I missed the memo had there been one ...

But do we( anyone) know, as opposed summise, what his role is to be.

Might come out tonight perhaps.

Like many...curious.  We certainly need to changes things up.

I think he is meant to take over from Yze, which was roughly match day leadership.

To help us win Flags, at least the next 2.

Are we pretty much implementing McQualter's game plan next season?

Well I doubt it will be Yze’s

I expect -and hope - it will be Goodwin's. He is the senior coach. I expect him to listen to advice but then make the decisions. If it were any other way, the tail would be wagging the dog.

So did Hames’ most memorable ever kick, across the corridor I guess, breach team rules?  🤗

McQualter recruited as an experienced assistant coach known for a dynamic, unpredictable attacking set up which makes the most of medium-sized players.

McAdam, Billings, Windsor and Tholstrup added to the list.

The 'less talk, show me the change' part of me is pleased.

Goodwin, was voted down at selection committee to  not include Sache.

Out of spite we went into a final one man down.

Massive coaching problems still need to be healed.

Not happening any time soon.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
