Is it politically okay to start chanting Colliwobble, Colliwobble ….. even though we are still in August?

Anyone anywhere is the attitude I've got and know the club feel the same as we should. I don't fear any team at any venue

I'm positive the players and coaches have the same attitude.

We've got the lions measure wherever we play them.

Port too. And pies.

But there's a fair bit to play out in the next round and a half.

Win the next two and let where we finish work itself out.

If we end up playing Brisbane at the Gabba, even if we lose, there is 2nd chance. Better than needing to play them at the Gabba in a prelim final.

Assuming we win the next two weeks, no injuries and reasonable form and hopefully Fritsch gets back okay, I think we stack up well against other top 4! Pies wobbling, Port also wobbled, and Lions losing that game to us at the ‘G’ plus Ashcroft out will hurt them.

Next time we play Lions, we have Oliver and Fritsch in, Petty out who was injured most of that Lions game! They have Ashcroft out!

Want to be playing our first final in melb which would be Collingwood, biggest issue is the instability of our fwd live with continued change through injuries & the 2 Rucks are not working, let’s hope it’s not a repeat of 2022

I know it's tedious to talk about, but my only fear going into the finals is not any particular club, or venue, but poor umpiring in key momentum shifting moments.

Getting Carlton into the 8 was more important than creating a handful of dead rubbers

This. HQ been trying for 2 years and finally succeeded. Blues will get another armchair ride from the umps today. $$$$$$$$$

Let's just win our last 2 games and let the cards fall where they fall.

The only thing i'm worried about for September is our forward set-up. A lack of a tall option to partner JVR is the only chink in our armour.

The pies fwd line reminds me of our own issues. They are relying on " short talls" like Howe.

They too are lacking some big key feds and it showed against the Lions with players like Hopwood and Danihers.

Maynard has a very rude head….

Rumour from a few years ago - we had Maynard in the bag. The board vetoed based on the 'one bad haircut' policy. At Melbourne, one is more than enough.

Pies scored 100 pts though as their system caters for the lack of talls. I would be happy if we kicked 100pts every game from now on. We have scored 100+ 8x and won them all.

Sounds like it was the same people who helped us dodge the bullet of picking toby greene in the pick swap with GWS (was the Dom Tyson trade i believe).

TOOTHLESS FERALS to go out in straight sets IMV!😄

In season 2023, the reality is that the real contenders make it a top 5, not top 4. And this throws all kinds of spanners into finals calculations.

The 5th team - Carlton - are playing finals-type footy, are winning close games, are confident and their power forwards can dominate. Those in positions 6 - 8 are fairly irrelevant in terms of the GF. Any of this top 5 can beat each other, and with the exception of Carlton in recent weeks, the other 4 teams have shown enough weaknesses to demonstrate they are beatable. The Blues are the big variable because they can still make top 4.

It comes down to belief and application moment by moment on game day. The Dees and Pies have 1 thing in common above the others, and that is they believe they can win from anywhere, regardless of being behind or momentum being with the other team they play.

Are you up with modern sporting trends?  Teams aren't serious in games that don't matter once they've locked in their pathway

We're just a bit behind in Oz.  Which is par for the course

Those here who follow the NFL or the NBA or even the MLB and soccer know what I'm talking about

I wouldnt use NFL and NBA as a comparison for anything. They dont even play football in USA. They play Throwball or Chuck ball. They rarely kick it. How many NFL players can kick the ball that isnt even designed for kicking? Maybe one or two in the entire team.  Slow Rugby with college girl cheerleaders.

Basketball....theyre 7-7 "6 tall and drop a huge ball into an even bigger hoop on a tiny little court.  Most meaningless game ever invented.

Hollywood actors, rappers and pod casters sit in the front row utterly zonked out of their brains. Thats America for you.

The point is do we want to risk imjury to any of our best players in a dead rubber? (if the Swans game is a dead rubber)

And people are the same all over especially when it comes to winning at all costs

Last nights result changed all that.

I also thought it would be a dead rubber. Pies fall over again and Lions will definitely mutilate the Saints at the Gabba. We finish 4th and its off to the Gabba again.  ffs

Atleast Pies game is first cab off the rank R24. We'll have a better idea then.

If Port beat Freo the odds are that we'll be finishing 4th so whoever finishes 1st or 2nd will be what it is

So the chances are that win or lose, we will probably finish 4th (if Port win their last 2 and the Lions beat the Saints)

There might be an upset result which would therefore change everything.  Mine is a hypothetical where any resting of players is dependant on how the other results go

By the last Sunday of the season we'll know what we have to do (or not do)

First of all, we need to beat the Hawks

Assuming we know if that last game is a dead rubber, is there anything in the rules that would stop us playing all four emergencies and simply resting Gawn, May, Viney for example.

Port rested 7 players albeit different circumstances.

Bringing in 4 emergencies is simply a big emergency with alot of goodwill.

Or you can take the Scott option and claim half your team fell ill after a dodgy meal night before game.(2021 prelim) Easily explained away in a place like Sydney.

That’s something that can affect both teams… I don’t subscribe to this ‘umpires are out to get us’ conspiracy.

I have read lots of posts from Pies supporters on Twitter and they seem to be OK with dropping the minor premiership.

They don't fancy playing us at the G' and rather would play Port at the G'.

Colliwobbles 😁😁😁
