Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Confidence is low, but optimism is high.

I love and hate Friday night games for this reason. Win and the weekend is set up. Lose and you'll be annoyed for the rest of the weekend.

I'm a big advocate for this but I must say after the GWS experience, it's also not fun being pent up with stress/disappointment/blood coming from your ears on a Sunday evening at 6pm when ideally you want to relax before the big week ahead.

Hope we get a decent crowd. Seems like more than a few dlanders are going. Been a while now since we've played at home too. Let's get comfy and win these next three games there.

Looking at the fixture it's quite conceivable that Power finsh first. Technically we could finish third  as our run home is fairly soft.

1) We got 37K to last years mid season Thursday night game between the two sides. Anything under 40K for a Friday night game would be disappointing.

2) Port have a number of outs this week, turning a probable win into a conceivable loss to Carlton. That might be the loss that costs them top spot given they have an inferior percentage to Collingwood.

I’d love to be wrong, but on current form the Lions will win this comfortably. No doubt they will get themselves up for this one, with plenty to prove about their MCG hoodoo. We’ve been just going with quite a few passengers.. I’ve lost hope that we’ll ‘click into gear’.. Lions by 45 points.

Agreed. A gut punching Sunday 6pm loss is about as mediocre as it gets in the weekly cycle of a footy tragic...

That’s a mulligan for me. Gawn went down in the first 5 and we were rattled.

Tx Bbp. Top spot will be a close one. Love to see the blues trounce power as I can't stand that mob. If they don't, I think power may get top spot as they have a crack at the Pies in Adelaide soon.

When the whips are cracking the Lions are soft. Away from home and in the cold they will wilt.

It won't be pretty (like usual) but we will bury them physically

Yeah but how much fun did we have during the power-out, DP?! Not knowing if play would resume so packing up giant heads, unpacking giant heads, furling flags, unfurling flags, booting Lions fans out of our bay (politely of course) all the while singing and dancing.

That was the first time in forever where I didn’t cry after a loss!

Thank goodness for Demonland. Absolutely no insight from SEN.

I really don't get the big deal about a side choosing to send a player back to VFL to work on some things, plus also get a bit of a rest after coming off a 12 month injury.

Nor do I though it is odd that they chose to do it when the VFL has a bye.

This has a Kings birthday feel about it to me.
We’re fully aware of what’s on the line and just when most of us (including myself) we’re wondering what the hell is Goody up to he’s gone whack.

Petty back to defence.

Two key fwds.

Our kicking accuracy returned last week.

We need to play line we did against the Swans and Collingwood.

If that's literally all it is @DistrACTION Jackson then I can support it.

The confusing words from Richo and making a 29 y.o 2 x AA ruckman go to the VFL to work on his forward craft just casts doubt though over what it all really means.

Totally! I mean, it’s not like those security guards are gonna catch you.

Incidentally, re the guy who did the bare-chested pitch invasion a few weeks ago, the media reported that he was caught and fined. Yeah nah, he was on a tram home before those guards even made it to the boundary fence. 😆

Unless of course Jonny’s out in the middle…

any time a star recruit, two time AA on big money gets dropped its big news.

clearly he is being dropped to help us win, not to work on stuff. after 13 seasons we know he can’t play forward

many way you slice it, it’s big news. like Neale or J Cameron getting dropped

The guys is a 🤡 screams for Brown to come in because JVR isn’t up to it. Brown has a poor game against GWS, calls for him to be dropped for JVR or Jefferson.

JVR comes in this week still moaning. Bags Spargo for years because you know if it ain’t obvious PF ain’t going to see what he brings, then retracts midway through 22(yes literally it took him that long to see it) only to change his mind again.

The bloke is deadset clueless.

But hey no matter what happens tomorrow if we lose, it will be because Grundy wasn’t selected

Well Pendent or Pendulum or whatever let me just say this.

1 Spargo has played probably 10 good games in his 90 odd, Yep lauded him at one stage when I thought he turned the corner, but his last two games have been garbage. He got dropped then without any return to Casey, returned to the senior side on What?? I don't buy this forward pressure stuff, give me GOALS AND POSSESIONS AND I'LL SHUT UP!

2 I remain a staunch advocate of BBB and believe he MUST Feature for the rest of the year.

3 JVR is Raw but promising, did NOTHING last week at CASEY yet still got a call up.

4 If I am "Clueless"The football department must also be similar with the chopping and changing, NEVER rewarding guys at Casey who have form I.E Schache, Dunstan, Moniz Wakefield et al.

So I might be passionate and opinionated BUT with VFL Under 19 experience behind me, Amateur 100 gamer and Senior coaching experience and a couple of Phys-Ed degrees... Nar dont think I'm Clueless.

Your turn????!

I have no idea what to expect tonight.

But I am interetsed to see how brown and van royeen go together in the forward line.

Goodwin is waiting for Kozzie to break open a game so tonight would be a good start. He'd want to do something.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
