Weird part is the Pies play them twice every year and both games are at the MCG. Now I'm happy for the AFL to claim it's a big game so we move it to a big ground but Thursday night was the last two Premiers playing each other. We would have got 80,000 to the game even on the Thursday night. 

Compromised draw to meet contracts with the MCG on x amount of games, tv ratings all come first vs integrity of the competition. As mentioned cats play the pies twice ay the G for supposedly more people get to see the game then the cats want a make up game at home and make us play there in a stadium that’s not completed and are ok with less people able to attend to watch the last 2 premiers whilst the mcg was vacant, why isn’t ok for less people to attend to watch cats vs the pies at gmhba but it’s ok if its melb???  You don’t have thus happening in the EPL or any other National comps globally! What is so hard for the afl to have a draw with one season home & the next away???

How is there any integrity in the AFL when they develop a fixture doing individual deals to appease individual clubs then give scraps to smaller clubs

Our Club needs to stop selling home games & possible 4 points as once again our draw will see us play away for 3 weeks in a row with Gmhba, NT, Marvel, I’m sure Pert is a strong negotiator but about time our club started getting more than just scraps

OK, we can all understand that the AFL is driven by $$ rather than a fair competition and that's why some teams never play at that stadium (which is more suited for chariot racing than footy), but if they had any integrity they'd give the clubs forced to play down there some compensation (other than cash). Eg, every (excessive) time you play down there you get moved up the draft order by 1 pick or somesuch.

The reality can’t play each other twice so very simple one season you play home &  the next away.. Cats have every right to play home games even host finals with new increased capacity. 

This cwood has more support argument is ambiguous.

Kardinia park only holds a certain number of opposing fans.

The fact is Dees fans miss out in attending as well. 

It's politics if we want the truth.

cwood is a very politically savvy club.

Crowd size is irrelevant at the Cattery more important is MCG crowd  Cats v  Pies  70K or thereabouts.  Pert should definitiely lobby the Afl. Lowly Hawthorn never go down there its absurd. Saints and Eagles got a reprieve this year.

So the Afl are running a comp based on negotiated deals with individual clubs, what a joke

For those saying Pert should lobby the AFL, first you need to lobby Pert. Email him and tell him. The club works with us. If we make a cohesive argument then it helps him go to the AFL.

Probably about 3 but the one in 2021 was the best. Great win from behind and minor premiers after the siren!! What a joy that was and of course, what was to follow.

Aren't we a team of, play anywhere, anytime. It is a good creed, and I like it.

The Kitty's will fall off their egotistical pedestal and some day the skills will decline, then we'll even up those win/loss stats. They may already be in decline.

Eventually Geelong will get finals at their oval and we will be better on the night/day for that experience. 

I prefer the GMBHA as away games than interstate ones, mainly because the players don't have to travel very far. Though, hanging out at Torque the night before didn't seem to work. Through trying things, we will find the best approach, which some other teams don't get a chance to explore.

And, Bobby, no coincidence that there was no feral crowd that night to intimidate the umpires.  Though, of course, we’re we’re clearly the best team of the year. 

There is another possible reason why Collingwood doesn't play in Geelong. We all know the State government has been happy to fund the redevelopment of the stadium because it is in an area with a few marginal electorates. But has the government adequately funded the Police? With insufficient police numbers in Geelong,  hosting a Collingwood game with its supporters is a much higher community risk than having the safer Melbourne supporters in town.   

Why do you ask Cricket, this how it has always been.!!!! Goes way back to 1859.!!

Just sent him my email it's been a pet peeve of mine for quite some time.

The AFL should have forced them to expand the wings to within a 2-3 m of the MCG specs. Even if that meant taking a few rows out from the stands on both wings or demolish the stand alongside Moorabool street.

The fact that they are allowed to maintain that advantage to 9, soon to be 11 home games is ridiculous. I think most teams will struggle at this venue - even the Pies and Port who rely on corridor space to transition. Geelong just [censored] it down and force you wide and slow.

The fact that the Cats train on an $8.0m MCC sized oval at Deakin Uni in Waurn Ponds Geelong in prep for finals is the real scanadl here. taxppayer funded and deakin don't have a local footy team.  As posted by another Poster on Demenland recently.

Did the Cats pay for that ?>  - who would know?
