Missed some big chances in that quarter, slow out the blocks but got the game on our terms in the 2nd half of the quarter.

Fought back well after watching Collingwood run around for the first 10 minutes. Goal kicking is killing us though

Chandler, Kozzy & Grundy .... wow.

Very tough winning with that sort of inaccuracy

Ugh we must take our chances. How did kozzie not get the distance.

But the 2nd half of that quarter we looked better

Second week in a row of disgraceful kicking at goal.

Kozzie and Gruny.. you've got to kick those ffs.

How have we gone from one of the most accurate to the one of the worst? Just basic set shots being missed.

What happened to Choco’s goal kicking academy? It’s a shambles!

Well that will 100% come back to bite us in the [censored]. They’ve watched us run ourselves silly, will put on a little pressure and we will fold.

We were all at sea for the first 10 mins but settled well. Pressure gauge right up. goal kicking letting us down badly. We have to convert.

Our own team worst enemy that q. Felt we were on top last 10 minutes, wasteful in front. Take our chances from here

Is the wind impacting the goal kicking at our end that quarter ??

JVR has to hold them marks 15 out, just has too.

How was the arm hold on Fritta by Moore ruck me what are the umps looking at the fluorescent parasites.

Were the misses from Grundy, Chandler etc kickable?

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
