Is this a QB type sellout or an Adelaide Gather Round sellout (you know - the one where half the stadium is empty)?

Redlegs members aren't general admission

right so you need to ring up and book a seat or your membership wont get you in the gate

What confuses me is that if a member with a reserved seat invited a guest (who pays etc etc) to the KB game my understanding is that both the member and the guest are given seats together but in another section of the ground.

If that is the case the ‘original’ reserved seat is left vacant.  If many members take up this option this would leave plenty of prime viewing seats vacant.

I’m guessing that these are not somehow sold on.  Be good if general admission members were somehow given the opportunity to pay some sort of ‘premium’ and get a seat for the KB game. (Particularly so because from what I have read above quite a few GA members who have not reserved a seat won’t be able to attend)

This way we would get more genuine demon supporters to watch the game and the club could financially benefit.

Chances of this happening? I’m not holding my breath (but there’s plenty of time to do this is the club wanted to do this)

I'm a legends club member and I have 6 seats, but I'm taking a group to the Presidents Club lunch, so my seats are going to be unoccupied and are not transferrable. You get seats as part of the lunch, pity but that's the way it is.

Even at the Anzac game there were plenty of seats around me empty.

How do these Muppets make it so confusing for supporters and why is the information so limited?

It should be as streamlined as what the MCC used to be.

Post covid has seen the ticketing system become completely shambolic.

Nice pay day for the club

Probably our biggest ever

Pies supporters pay and they were likely quicker off the mark than ours.

Not sure what the monetary return is from the AFL section but it must be good. An old article suggested we get 41% of the revenue at the MCG but how revenue is defined I have no idea

No, No, No.

Do you have a Membership Card that has a seat allocation printed on it?

Sorry, some Redleg Members don't have an allocated seat but an area on level 2 where they can sit and of course they can also sit or stand in the Ryder or Hassett rooms.

Hi there, in the family we have plenty of memberships, but hadn't stocked up on tickets (TBH I don't even know how it works having been away so long, last time I went a membership got you in the gate)- anyway a hail mary request.

As you know I'm based in Sudan but left after the war started, before I go back I have decided for a quick refresh in Australia to see family and will be going to KB, brother sorted me. I just had news that a US Marine, and good friend and very nice guy is coming to visit Australia ( he evacuated from Sudan as well) for a couple of weeks before his next mission. I would love to be able to buy a ticket that I could use with a membership somehow to take him to the game. I have been teaching him and his marines how to kick a Sherrin for the last couple of years and preaching Melbourne and showing videos to them all.

If anyone has anything spare let me know, will of course reimburse as is appropriate.

DM if you have any ideas. He arrives too late to goto the Carlton game.

2 options for you I think, one is to put your membership barcode into Ticketek and click Melbourne supporter allocation and there are still some tickets available (around 200): second is find someone who has MCC guest passes and they can get you tickets (i can help with this one if you’d like)

I just got an email from the club telling me how to forward my reserved seat tickets onto others if I couldn’t go.

I think this is a great idea. I’ll be there, but I know some people can’t, and that way the seats are filled with Red and Blue. The club is really trying to get this right.

Oh boy, am I going to be in trouble. The missus and I have already booked accomodation and flights (we live in Sydney) and now I have a ticket and she doesn’t. That’s going to be popular…….

Complete long shot, not expecting a miracle, surely everyone wanting tickets, but if anyone wants to sell their ticket or just help a Dees tragic out it would be unbelievably appreciated. I’ve been a reserved seat member for years and years despite hardly ever managing to see a game, purely for the grand final guarantee (which like many of us eventually couldn’t use although my niece in WA was extremely grateful for it as she used to date Chugger Spargo) so I’d even be happy to offer up my seat for the vast majority of games for anyone that was able to help? As I said i see two games live a year IF I’m lucky (I run pubs so weekends away are rare) so I’d much rather a Dees fan get to use it for their friends and family than have it go to waste. Anyway, essay over, not expecting a miracle but needed to at least put it out there

*Update*

I believe a magnificent member has 2 tickets for us, which will mean my reserve ticket would be available and obviously I would happily pay that forward to anyone needing one so feel free to message

No, Redlegs members got an email today saying we can scan in our membership and sit in our normal spots.

I've got seats in M10, couple of rows back from the fence. They were a gift so no choice available. Am I going to be in Collingwood heartland?

Still a day out at the footy, won't worry me too much just need to let the family know what we are going to be in for!

I am trying to convince my husband to attend this one, since we all know that when he is at the ground, we win.

So far, his response was "90,000 Collingwood fans? I'd rather not".

Melbourne reserved areas in the GSS are M13-M16 so you wont be too far away. Probably a 70:30 split in M10 Collingwood's way, similar to Anzac Eve.

There are going to be lots of us there, dont think it will be 70K of them. Expecting 40K of us and 45K of them with the  rest neutrals.

Didn’t your husband go to the Swans or Lions final last year?

He went to the Swans final.
We don’t ALWAYS win when he comes but he’s only seen us lose live 4 times.

Edit: yes, he’s been to more than 4 games 😂

Give him a jolly good beating Jaded - that will make him see reason.

Spot On Dworship, the bay the seats are in, is all that is needed.

He says not his circus, not his monkeys.

Even the players were thinking about this a month out it seems. Bad recipe

I’m not sure I can bear to watch us get slaughtered in front of 70,000 Pies fans.

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.

Clayton Oliver, a four-time best and fairest winner at the club, has navigated a challenging period over the past two years, marked by injuries and personal issues, but has demonstrated promising signs suggesting a return to his optimal form in 2025. He is presently contracted to the club for an additional five years, with a substantial annual salary of approximately $1.7 million in the final seasons of his agreement. All at Melbourne are eagerly anticipating his resurgence to his previous peak performance levels.
