It’s time that we had a dedicated thread where we can discuss the people in the football media.

First cab off the rank is this man who already has his eyes on the supporters’ Media Fool of the Year.

Ch7 commentator Brian Taylor goes too far, is complete laughing stock

The article makes a very good point. I watched the game last night and listening to Taylor, I really thought that   Collingwood won the game.

Must've heard the name "Daicos" about 1000 times last night. Sycophantic commentary.

I laughed when he was pumping the filth up when they were 39 points down in the 3rd.

I prefer BT not commentating collingwood or richmond games cos he loves them and Melbourne games cos he hates us.
He's also more fun when he call's on the radio when he can be a bit more of a larrikin

Next season Foxtel will be able to use their own commentators when screening Ch.7 matches.

Can't wait!  BT is horrendous.

That said, loved listening to James Bradshaw's GF commentary (and Daisy) 😁

BT was somewhat tolerable in the GF I thought l. At least his token lines were bearable.

I think you’ve let the winning glow of the GF win impact your thoughts!

BT is about the only commentator that I mute the tv for. He and Dermie. Both are incredibly painful to the ears

Those 2 for definite. I'd add a 3rd, Jobe Watson. Finding it increasing difficult to ignore his inane comments.

Ah football media. Where it doesn't matter if you glass a woman in the face (carey) or are a convicted drug cheat, there's a spot for your terrible analysis

It bothers me how she really tries to force these clever little quips or play on words all the time. They’re terrible and it massively detracts from the game. Instead of trying to be comedians, can they just try to add insight beyond what we see on the screen?

Going by Jobe Watsons comments he probably should of stayed in New York running his bar with that hot wife of his.

I wonder what Timmy thinks.

Timmy thinks his old club did nothing wrong despite not knowing what they injected his son with

Say what you like about BT but he came up the phrase "Fritsch-magnet" c. Round 18 2021 (or was it 2022?🤔).

An early entrant for the prestigious Golden Dermie, is Chris Johnson specially commenting on the match against the Swans.  Throughout the second half, he waxed lyrical about the masterstroke of replacing a fit BBrown with Melksham.  The Boundary Rider must have been asleep.  Furthermore, he said that Melksham was a player that would "fight and scrap for you).  Not the strengths of the Melksham that I see (also noted in last week's podcast).

Don’t you like when Jobe says things like,” if you kick the highest score you often win” and “the side that wins possession, often has the ball”.

At least he isn't wrong there...

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
