Normally I’d be at the game but this time round I will be on a boat somewhere near New Zealand trying to catch Covid. My bad, I booked tickets ages ago without thinking 😭

Having a Chinese meal with a fellow supporter in Little Bourke St.And a bottle of dine too!

Trying to watch the game on the tv while having a house full of relos over for my son's birthday. Need to make sure all the food is cooked by the first bounce and I have a scotch/whiskey/rum in hand.  Hopefully we win so I can watch the replay when they all leave.

Train ride straight to Jolimont with 3 of the kids.
The most exciting thing for me is my 16yr old daughter is more excited about heading to the game than me. Kids are well and truly rusted on now.

Saturday night barby and a couple of beers/glass of red.

Good excuse to work in Melb on Friday,

south Melbourne market Saturday then the number 1 tram to city and walk through the gardens.  Expect to use 4 of our family tickets.  I expect and hope to win.

Patiently waiting to see if there is parking at the G . Otherwise I have to brave the trains on the way home.

Bloody night game!

Pretty keen to get along to a few more games this year, the last few i haven't managed to attend as many in person as i'd like, possibly post covid anxieties.

Handlebarz Sports Bar, Makati, Philippines

Introduce new Prinsesa to AFL, meet Perth mate.

Forget Philippines for while.

If Prinsesa is bored she’ll study Nursing degree notes

At home with some venison kranskys and beers. I have a nice drop of Japanese single malt that I may have afterwards should we win.
I am considering starting to have a pre game joint. Just to see if it will calm me down a bit. Poor dogs take themselves out the back as soon as the game starts. They are never sure if I’m shouting at them or the TV.

I got a nice bottle of Tanduay rum straight from the Philippines for my birthday, may crack that open on Saturday

Get the hour long train ride in and see the game. When I get home some nice cold Coopers pale ale to celebrate the win or even a few more to drench myself if we lose.

All this breaching of special libations being contemplated.

This is definitely like Grand Final week!

Would normally be in attendance but I’ve got a bloody wedding!

Will have to sneak off and get updates via kayo and demonland where possible.

Couldn’t believe it when the invitation came and I saw the date - their priorities are all wrong.

Lying in bed with my wife in the privacy of my own home, lights off.

Train from Balaclava with 2 of the kids, to take up our new place in the posh seats. Cannot wait for this season.

That’s sooooo Melbourne. ❤️💙

Fly into Melb Thursday and try and find my Dees colours.

Catch the train in with my son, perhaps dinner in the city, catch up with extended family at the ground and eat a pie.

Shame E Wood retired.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
