Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Realistically only about 3 teams have the currency to get this done, it would be one of the biggest trades of all time. i kind of want it to happen just to see a deal on that scale.

I'd be wanting a top 5 pick and a player, or a top 5 pick and a top 10 pick to even start the conversation

I'd be wanting top 5 picks just to start the convo. You build a midfield around Clarry.

The club is playing with fire if they are open to listening to offers for Clarry. We need to nip it in the bud ASAP.

Am going to proffer a different  view.

Whilst essentially Clarry you would think is a no go area... is he ? Is anyone ??

The club should ( due diligence) listen. It may then choose to laugh, guffaw...or  ponder.

Im not for one moment putting him up for trade.   But listening doesn't cost.

Oliver is rare, dare i say unique. But we did cope.

Nothing is carved in stone.

Maybe Oliver might take note.

Speculation of course. I only get news from here or I speculate Picket.

But a lot of people have a story about Oliver being out and about drunk. I know I have. Not to say he shouldn't be of course. Perfectly normal behavior for a young man. Not necessarily for a full time professional sportsman though who has to run 15 km every week and is at the coal face of most contests. He is being asked to sacrifice and compromise and personally I see it as an issue for him at this point in his short life.

Compare him to Trac and Viney, both married, comfortable in their own skin and settled down. Again not to knock Clarry at all. He just has a bit of growing up to do. And part of growing up is deciding whats right for you and how you would like to go about it.  I think his second half of the year reflected that.

It is all about how he handles himself really. He had setbacks and remember the Club is not innocent in this charade. FD and Hoody. Who was running the medical reports? Goody  should have been told to leave that to Selwyn each week and only do the facts not predictions on the next round or two.  This did not help Clarry clearly. It confused and thsts the vision on the TV blowing up about his injury.

I am not a medical person but it was a very long time before the issue was resolved. Wasn't there any other medical advice that could have been sought?

A very hard lesson for all and again another reason why we missed out on 2nd plus winning tight Finals games at the end.

Very many decisions over the season mainly last two months Leading up to games or in them resulted in us virtually losing the 1% ers that would have got us and not the Pies and Blues across the line.

From the Schache sub to the Goal Reviews to the forward and connection decision making we made our own bed and had to lie on it eventually.  Goody should own up about the sub decision as a mistake. Please don't go down the Rory Lobb path it's not leading any where.

Let's get a big fish be it Lynch McKay or another if we can and make sure  we get 2 elite recruits from the 4/5 picks we have. JT and Lambie should be burning the midnight oil in the next 6/8 weeks as they do so well.

We looked a Club that couldn't control its destiny at the end and thsts the very difference between the Pies and other top teams this season.

Lions made expensive GF errors 50m like us snd late red time after siren goals killed them. They agsin hit the run of the green with Daicos the underserving beneficionary of the first and virtually only head high tackle as he slid down to exaggerate his shoulder's position. Lions defence had lapses that always let The Pies  recover. Guess the pressure is the issue same way we should have won but couldn't find a way. Win that QF and the Flag was probably ours Forwards injuries and all.

All Clubs have seen the Pies blueprint for 51 games now and need to practise match situations far better to catch them out. Also greater aggression is necessary at the start and end of quarters.

We are still in our prime but need a reality check with a recruiting splurge of a classy and confident outside runner plus big forward to join JVR Harry P and Fritta plus our smalls and mids and another young defender to add along with Disco Jed Adams for the near present and future also. Oh and a young Matt Flynn type to assist Gawny.

We have no trouble attracting star players to our Club and we have the were with draft and trade tools to add another layer or two to our existing list

Hope we can accomplish a great deal over the two periods upcoming so critical for our future.

Try offering a counter argument.  Can you ? All too simple to denigrate eh . Heads up ...you're  not in charge. It's a forum. You do get that's about...conversations...ideas.

The counter argument is, as all clubs, there are untouchables!! Clarry is exactly that.

Max, May, Trac, Viney (as he is a son of a club great), Lever all sit in the same club as Clarry.

I’m not in charge and don’t suffer foolish conversations easily……

Soz if you felt I was denigrating you.

IF Clarry left would u take gc pick 4 gc future first Ben king

for Clarry melb pick 25 pick 34 melb future second

then trade gc pick 4 future melb first rd pick for nm pick 2

then trade pick 2 pick 13 and future first gc to west coast for Harley Reid

melb end up with Harley Reid/ Ben king and (pick 5) Zane dursma/O’Sullivan/Watson/mckercher

Im going to again offer a counter view.

If as you suggest Oliver is untouchable..  no one would have enquired.

Somewhere... someone... has let a door crack open.

No one asks about Max, Trac or Jack... but strangely there's a story surrounding Clarry.

Think about that.

That's not my memory and Im happy to be corrected, but Jolly cracked it due to ND playing Jamar in front of him late in the season and looked to leave at season end.

Bang you are probably right that that was the reason he wanted out but the point I made is that ND was too ready to say yes only thinking that Jeff White could ruck alone and do the job. Of course Jama was around snd  cover maybe but we lost out  through ND too easy a yes to Jolly. Is what I gleaned to this trade.

That in  no way reflects what a great ruck Mark became culminating in 2010 with AA selection.

TMZ has stories of Hollywood too.

Think about it. Clarry was taking drugs, therefore explaining his extended hamstring issue according to some media this year. Not true!

I have no inside knowledge, but I say “Move on! Nothing to see here”

If there is whispers of a disagreement within the club, taking it to, he is tradable is a massive stretch… the kid is a generational player.

As such i agree...   but thats not where we are.  I can think of many players at many clubs I'd pick as a 'made up' before Oliver.

I still don't attach either much voracity or credibility to it ( the murmurings ) ... but it's an odd choice...no ?

He's had some issues this year..  not all happy snaps and perhaps thats where it stems??

Doing the Devils work again... whats more important "A" bloody good mid ( we have a few )... or a bloody good kpf ???   Of which we have none.

Again...listening costs nil.

He'll be going into the 6th year of his seven year deal next year which he signed back in 2018.

It's doable. No doubt about it. And we have space.

Also, what makes you think he's still in a moonboot? I'm pretty sure he's out.

Did you see him marche on Le Champs Elysees?

Wrong we have Petty and potentially JVR short term and long term possibly MAtty Jefferson. And a high draft pick or big trade should see another. Not all lost adding in our other pieces in the puzzle.

Not really hearing anything leaking out of the MFC. Hearing a couple of whispers but nothing really solid.

Heard a couple of people say that they believe Flynn will get across the line to us. I think that would be a good result.

Mc Adam move might be in doubt. No idea why and I do not rate this whisper.

Have heard that the club has a few different strategies in play and that the direction they take will be dependent upon what trades fall early, and not just trades we are involved in.

Harmes more than likely to stay along with Tomlinson.

I did hear that there may be a key positional switch coming up during the preseason. Will keep the name to myself until after the trade period.

Heard nothing re: Oliver except what has been on here.

I would suggest that neither ARE a kpf... might be... not yet.

That is the issue .... ??

Clarry IS a top end mid..   we have potential forwards ( imo )

The humiliating trade suggestions from nuffy supporters of other clubs on Twitter  is almost as painful as the feedback we received in going out in straight sets two years running.

If the Oliver rumour is of Melbourne’s doing, I want a 40% discount from NB that actually works as some form of compensation.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
