i don’t mind it. we desperate needed a ruck /fwd and Fullarton could surprise a few

we needed fwd pressure, class and marking in fwd 50. McAdam. Russell Robbo mk II?

And we needed some outside run and midfield depth in Billings

The high draft picks can provide the spark and the traded 3 can play their role

Sounds to me like Petty and his manager got thrown an opportunity and took it as a chance to bring stuff to the table with Melbourne.

We might need to pander to him a little to try and convince him to stay longer term.

I took from what lamb said was that the MFC will get his family from sa more involved and over more during next season.

Imo This may go along way to appeasing Pettys desire to go home.

The main target for us should be to move his partner to Melbourne. I don’t know what she studies or does for work, but surely someone on D’land can get this girl a job in Melbourne.

No [censored] and doesn't feed into what the media want to create headlines.

What does the reporter ask when Lamb just glares and says “No”.

I just can’t hear it. Why can’t they give the journos microphones?!

I think the question was did Adelaide offer us anything for Petty that we considered

I think Tim Lamb would have played the bad cop

Is he actually an ex cop?  Explains a lot if true!

Wish coaches spoke like this more often and just don't feed media [censored].

The Petty stuff still worries me, hope we can get him to settle in Melb.  I Travel weekly to SA so happy to transport his mum's cooking every week.

Come on Demonlanders, who owns a pharmacy or any other non legitimate drug operations?

Based on the posting history of some Demonlanders, reckon we could have a few candidates! Then there are our Amsterdam-based posters and their international network!

You must be thinking of a different Russell Robertson!

I suppose it makes for a welcome break from Essendon ‘winning trade week’.

I take it back.

Essendon won trade week again…

Port needed rucks and key defenders and got 2 of each and lost Duursma who has been disappointing recently.

Think they did really well.

Bit ridiculous rating trade week in isolation of the upcoming kids draft.

West Coast did very little over the trade week and have an average draft hand.  They are in for quite a few more years of pain.

(not that that’s a particularly bad thing)

They could turn 1 into Curtin and 2 more high pick players, so that’s not bad and added a ruckman to replace the non playing Nic Nat and a talented forward in Brockman.

That’s a good start.

But also worth remembering that Petty is contracted for 2 more years, '24 and '25. No one forced him to sign the contract. Adelaide will be asked to cough up next year if they want a contracted player that we've invested heavily in

Don't take it to heart.

Media need to media or they won't get paid

On todays Gettable episode they described an early pick swap scenario involving us Gold Coast and North.

Wasnt fully detailed but essentially would have seen North with picks 2, 5 and 6 with Melbourne getting 3 and North's 2024 end of first round pick after giving up 6, 14 and future 1st.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
