Redleg 42,156 Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 (edited) There is a press conference at 10.30 this morning and one could guess it’s a retirement announcement. If she does retire, well done on a great footy career, as a pioneer of the AFLW and in the game of women’s footy. The cherry on top of the cake would have to be the Dees first AFLW flag as Captain. Grapeviney 9,929 Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 Not just an MFC legend, but one of the most significant figures in the modern era of the game. We were lucky to have her in the red + blue. 18 5 Quote

dimmy 1,308 Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Should be the first AFLW Legend !! Having said that her press Conference showed a lot of respect for her as a person. Well done on a great career Mk1. 2 1 Quote
Lord Travis 10,819 Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 (edited) She’s an icon. A fantastic footballer who played a key role in getting women’s footy on the map. In the early years she was such a clear level above everyone else out on the field. Watching her was inspiring. She’s a great role model and leader, and you can see her drive and the strength of the relationships she builds. It’s no surprise she found success. She’s also been brilliant in the media helping to raise the profile of women not just in AFL but sport in general, even standing up to some big names at times. Great footy brain and one of the best commentators going round. All the best for the next chapter Daisy. You’re an MFC legend now. Edited January 18, 2023 by Lord Travis 7 4 Quote
dl4e 5,851 Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 A true club champion. We should all be proud of what she gave to the club and womens football. Will be sorely missed. 5 Quote
DeeSpencer 26,675 Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 (edited) The right call. Just an awful shame she’s off to the evil taxpayer funded empire. 55 games drastically undersells her massive impact on the game Edited January 18, 2023 by DeeSpencer 7 1 Quote
