Not sure I'd label them trash given they kicked themselves out of the game against the best team in it atm without Paddy and Rampe.

Hickey has been a big out too. Ladhams is struggling a bit in that role.

We'll be getting a pick as high 4 and as low as 7 imo. Unfortunately North, WC and Hawthorn are all but certain bottom three. Then from 15th - 12th/11th it's anyone's guess but I can easily see Gold Coast, GWS and Richmond finishing above Freo.

They have a terrible draw, have a flawed system, are playing without confidence and the players that left last year have left a big hole.

Plus there is pressure building from the outside and we know what happened to us in 2019 as the pressure kept building.

I hope you're right 'Jimmy' or even better.

I'm just trying not to worry about it too much.

I find myself too invested in the Freo result and probably still will be.

Freo are beating Sydney this week (IMO) on the way to an 11-12 season, and can blame their poor start on missing the finals.

They're too good a side to be hanging around the bottom 5 and if Jackson plays more games like last week then their forward line will start to be a bit more potent and consistent.

It's all well and good to play like that against a tanking team at home. Let's see how they go against real opposition (remember they beat GC and everybody thought it would be a catalyst for their season)

I’m back on the death riding train this week. Confident swans can crush any confidence they got from the hawks game. Hickey back will help them as will the fact it’s in Sydney. Swans need to win to have any chance of making finals so will be well up for it.
After the Swans. Freo play the Cats in Perth and then us at the MCG. I expect them to lose all three.
They have the bye before two massive games for us death riders. Richmond and then GWS. Hopefully Richmond have a few plays back from injury by then.

Too good a side to be beating last year's grand finalists on their home turf?

Nah.

No way they're knocking off Sydney at the SCG.

Freo are terrible. Beating up on a putrid Hawks team doesn't mean anything. Swans' hardness was back on the weekend so I expect them to account for Freo by 30-40 points.

Jackson played mainly in the ruck with Darcy carrying an injury into the game.

If he has the run of the ruck he will play good footy but that's just not going to happen.

Fyfe helps them but for how long, who knows. Injury is a constant...

Wouldn't it be Geelong to lose to these muppets from Freo next week.

Swans are still a good side despite their start to the year, it will be interesting however to see if the Dokkas have gained much momentum after their soft kill last week

@Bring-Back-Powellneeds to look at Freo's draw.

It was rated as either highest or second highest hardest draw this year.

They have Sydney away, Geelong at home and then us at the G the next three weeks.

If they lose all three, that'll be it. Then the snowball pressure cooker comes and they fall apart.

And we laugh and watch and take the gold at the end.

Yay.

Last night was massive. Richmond looked decent (against a undermanned cats team but still) and I’m convinced there’s no way freo finish above suns, who are in great form.

Just need GWS to find a spark now and we can secure pick 4.

Agree with @Jaded No More, Sydney are overrated trash.  I often think a bad goals to points ratio is the mark of a poorly performing side.  Yeah they can win it forward, but if it's not comming in well, the ball goes to low percentage positions and/or ends in alot of rushed behinds.

Sydney were the most unworthy grand finalist in recent years, largely because the got a soft draw in 2022 an some extent of over performance with the immature list they had.  They were lucky to get that finals win against us too, when we were fatigued and they got some good momentum from the umps to get them back into the game.  Still I hope the Swans can dig deep and beat Freo to assist our death riding fun.

Like you I can't see us getting anything better than 4th pick Jimmy.  Let's face it, North don't have the talent, West Coast are finally wearing the consequences of riding a list that resembled Dad's Army for too long (Geelong, you're next) and everyone has been well and truely out tanked by Sam Mitchell and the Hawks before the season even started.

Whoever loses out of Freo and Sydney this week is done for me in 23.

Honestly, I think they are both done anyway, regardless.

Once it's mathematically impossible for Freo to make finals, they'll just drop their bundle and play for draft picks - oh wait!! 😂🤣😂

That would seem to be the best pick we can hope for.

That would probably allow a trade up to 2 or 3 if we felt it was a need.

I see 1 as off the table and I wouldn’t mortgage the farm for one player.
