Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Hawks are expert tankers with a demeanour of ‘how dare you say we do what we are doing’…

ND4 the best outcome for us. Which is great.

I think Hawks will beat them, without Breust and CJ.

I hope you are correct Red but Breust out leaves a bloody big hole in their ability to kick a winning score.

Yes he does, but if they bring in that bloke McDonald, I think it was, who had 100 possessions against Casey, the ball will live in their forward line.

Breust you could understand, but Jiath is a kid.

I actually think the opposite. Jiath is a kid with a bright future ahead. I understand if he's sore and they don't want to push him and cause a stress injury.

But Breust? what are you resting him for, September? FFS he is one of the few leaders they have left. Surely they want him on the field as much as possible.

Ridiculous.

Having watched both these teams in every game....Really actually think Hawks have a better system/mids in form and have been better in their games for longer.

Fremantle "have" to win this one, not sure they can with their coach and players not on the same page...their plan is all over the shop and JL is not inspiring them, they seem flat at start of every game.   Hawks by 5 goals.

A big advantage the hawks have in this game is they are under little pressure. So can play freely.

Freo players and coaching staff on the other hand are under massive pressure. Imagine if the lose this? Docker fans will lose their collective minds.

And as you say their game plan is all over the shop and the players look confused.

I think they will win still, but all those factors mean a loss won't surprise.

.... or maybe they'll play Frosty up forward.

That would create some chaos - for both teams!

Managing players at round 8 when you are slop? Breust needs managing? For what... Finals?

I bet nobody at AFL house will even blink an eye about this very obvious case of tanking. That only happens to Melbourne.

Freo by 10 goals.

The AFL is well aware of their tactics.

At the start of the year Caroline Wilson reported the AFL were filthy with Hawthorn for exiting all their experience last year.  To name a few:  O'Meara, Mitchell, McElvoy, Dunstan etc thousands of games experience.   She even mentioned that evil word: priority pick. She said no chance they will get one given their deliberate list decimation.

Not long after, one of the co-hosts of a Dunstall program mentioned that evil word.  He grinned.

It isn't just pick 1 they want, a priority pick is their end game, if not this year then next.

They have learnt nothing from the wasted years and culture destruction at the dees and blues 10 years ago from tanking.

Regardless of what Hawks do we will still end up with pick 5-7 from Freo or if we are very lucky #4.  And whatever pick we get I'm confident we will get the player we want at the top of the draft.

They are no chance of getting a priority pick. Not now, not next year and certainly not with the introduction of Tassie.

They won 4 flags not that long ago. If Norf and Carlton haven't got one, they are no chance either.

They are not even that bad for goodness sake.

Norf did get two. But I agree, not Hawthorn.

Really surprises me why clubs go down the tanking path. Absolute culture killer. Best way to develop the youngsters is to keep senior players to guide them along. And try to win games.

I really hope it all blows up in their faces.

It blew up in ours. It blew up in Carlton's. It's going to blow up in theirs.

When we gutted our list of senior players it destroyed the club for a decade. I am still not over the way we dumped Junior McDonald. We ruined the fabric of the club, and all we got in return was Scully and Trengove. Didn't that work out well...

Since last year?

North granted extra draft picks, list spots by the AFL - https://www.afl.com.au/news/847042

Well you could argue that they have gotten worse, their last 3 games were absolutely terrible, and in hindsight beating Freo (by 1 point) and West Coast is not exactly the feat we all thought it was... Hawks beat them and they want priority picks. Laughable.

I heard somewhere that the average age of the playing group on Saturday night was older for North than it was for us! 🤪

It's all related to the Army, believe it or not.  This stems from his days at Parade College.

He wants to be Captain and be paid attention.  It sounds rank, but I've heard that he is feigning Private issues or General soreness (possibly from Corporal punishment).  However, I doubt that he is suffering from any Major injury.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
