There's really nothing else to say in this thread other than something derogatory towards Fremantle.

Jury is out on that one. I just want them to finish down  the ladder, they won’t finish last or second last if we could get pick four through six I would be delighted. Getting the picks we get for Jackson and getting The Bun will have been a great result. Our selection / negotiating team have done a great job again.

Okay, I’d be prepared to get our original pick 3 back for LJ along with last years late first round pick and this years early 2nd round pick as payment for his development…you’re welcome PB

Freo will be bottom 4 by the end of the day

we are top of the ladder

feeling good!!

Had a good time cheering on the Giants yesterday, and currently backing in the Suns against Richmond. Things going very nicely, Freo looking more and more likely to only finish above North, Hawks and the Eagles.

And let's hope Eagles finish last... Death Ride WAFL!!!

Devastating draft cost of big name trade

Can anyone who has access to this HS article let us know just what it’s saying (aside from the obvious we get Freos pick)

TIA

God I’m loving this death riding. Freo, GWS and Suns games all going our way this weekend. Gives me a genuine interest in an extra 3/4 games a week.

NOVEMBER DREAMING OR NOVEMBER NIGHTMARE?

Fremantle knows Luke Jackson will be a 10-year-plus player who will play a big role in the club’s future fortunes.

But the Dockers would never have dreamed they might end up giving up so much to claim the 2021 premiership player.

And that’s something which is keeping Melbourne fans watching the down-and-almost-out Dockers as much as they are their own team.

Freo played finals last year and would have expected to do the same this year. That’s why they were content trading last year’s pick 13 as well as a future first and future second to the Demons.

But after a 2-5 start to the 2023 season – and with their confidence looking shot at times against Brisbane – the Dockers look to have no chance of playing finals this year.

If things stay the same, and the Dockers remain in a similar ladder position, the Demons might be getting a pick 5 or 6 or 7 this November, as well as a mid 20s pick as well.

That’s not Jackson’s fault, and the Dockers are more than happy with him. But you can also understand why Simon Goodwin and Demons fans are watching the Dockers so closely.

I wouldn't trust Peter Bell to run a bath, let alone a football department.

Two marks this week. Two.

At about $100,000 a mark 🫠

I still laugh at the thought that he’s getting paid more than 6 time AA ruckman and premiership captain Maximus Gawn 😂

Freo play Hawthorn next weekend.

Hawthorn get the job done and anything is possible in regards to a top 3-5 pick.

That 4th tank could very well be Richmond

Their first pick is tied to GWS is it not? So I hope they tank. 😄

Yes the irony would indeed be hilarious

My head tells me that Hawthorn has no show of beating Fremantle in Perth but my heart says otherwise. Still, I remember very well the Sunday evening when Collingwood went over there and upset them in the rain. I think it was the start of the Magpies run and, in all likelihood, the defeat that cost the Dockers a top four berth so here’s hoping.

I am taking the weekend off the death ride. Hawthorn are tanking quite well right now - a couple of honourable losses ensure Smitchell can continue the tank away from prying eyes half a world away.

Dont you play them into form Hawthorn! We love their stilted ball movement and unimaginative play!

IT IS INSPIRING

if freo keep this up we will be in a unbelievable draft position

Looking at each teams needs I think hawks will take Reid pick 1

westcoast could take Moir (from Adelaide, west coast supporter) pick 2

North need a key position player, already have wardlaw sheezel powell and L Davis Uniacke, maybe take curtain or A Reid

Gold Coast may trade back so they don’t waste high first round pick on Walter so we could be looking at dursma Watson caddy A Reid

Maybe we trade with Gold Coast with some combination of our first and second round pick for their first

maybe bring in some combination of dursma/ Watson with archer Reid/ caddy

also like the look of Connor o,Sullivan

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
