Nah.

You look like a complete [censored] out of this.

A quick google search would tell you exactly what you need.

Part time Johnny must be interested in footy on a part time basis if you know what I mean. Maybe he needs to go back to 5 days a week if you know what I mean.

If Jefferson was 5kgs heavier in his draft year we would be licking our lips. I like his output in his first 2 games at Casey. He looks a player!

And he has some sh.t in him, as well as being a very good contested mark, even as a skinny teenager.

I think we have a very good one here and 8-10 kilos of muscle will really make him.

After a slow start to the year, off an injury interrupted pre-season mind you, Jefferson is starting to hit his straps.

Spent a few games back early in the season and when forward was perhaps impeded by our other talls in Brown, Schache, Fullarton, KFW and Verrall resting forward at times.

He's now kicked 15 goals in 9 games with 13 of those coming in the last 5 weeks for an average of 2.6 goals a game.

I think we're just scratching the surface of his potential with a seemingly solid ground level game coupled with a strong aerial game. He might not get a debut this year but I think he'll get more than a taste next year. Reckon he will pair well with JvR.

Like many on here, I had my doubts he would be good enough for AFL. Unlike many on here, I refused to blame Jeffo, the club and act with any venom toward him.

I’m now confident he will be playing AFL at some stage. He is very much like Fritta. Low possession getter, but has big impact in the fwd line.

What has surprised me most is his grunt, conviction and desperation on ground. This seems to have improved this year.

Good thread bump @Nascent

Not ready yet physically. Needs a big off season working on his strength and stamina

Many said this against Windsor ( and Robbie Flower).

Yes physical development is necessary but not the only requirement for AF L selection.

Jeffo has already commenced that this summer and put on about 6 kg.  What he needed to do was start going in and flying for the ball plus following up on second and third efforts.
He is doing  that now and many here are lauding him for it also eating large doses of humble pie.

The facts are if he plays another 5/6 games and converts etc. the surely he can be tried as say at half  forward or even as a KP third tall to say Petty/ Disco L and JVR with Fritta as mid plus smalls around those 4.

There is no log book saying like in races max. Or min. Weight. Ability and good timing in a career for both Club and player should not take a backward step if it won’t  harm him in the long run.  ( This up to the Club to not do another Jack Watts, of course and we have learnt that lesson the hard way. )

Who would you like in Round 17/18 say to debut?

Jeffo

Kentfield

Fullarton

as our third tall if necessary?

I lean to Jeffo if Luker does not hit the ground running T Casey or Fullarton has kicked goals galore there also.

Has displayed more grunt im the last few weeks, which for him = increased confidence, he is not that far away from a debut methinks!

As a tall key forward, physical development is absolutely necessary in today's game. Imagine when Jefferson comes up against Sam Taylor, Harris Andrews and Jacob Weitering, he'd get physical monstered.

A winger or outside player in Windsor case can get away with a smaller frame because they're not smack bang right in the middle of the contested work so obviously they're not copping the big hits and one on one duels like key forward/defenders do.

Jefferson is still a long way off it from a physical sense. Talent us there but.

He's just starting to find his feet at VFL level, let's not destroy the kids confidence by putting him in a forward line that barely sees the ball. Next year will be the year for jeffo.

Don't think he'd be matched against those you name, at least not for a while. He'd be more likely to get 2nd or 3rd tall defender. I think JVR and Petty would get those guys

Maybe late this season if his VFL form holds up he will get a game to see how he goes and he can get an understanding of what he needs to do over the preseason to tackle 2025.

In short when we are no longer in finals contention play him.

Jeffo's stat line the last 5 weeks where he has seemingly found his feet is:

K    H    D  M   T  G    B
6.2 3.8 10 3.4 2  2.6 1.8

If he improves on that for the next 5 weeks and we are sitting anywhere outside the bottom 8 then I would say throw him in just so he can get a taste of the AFL level.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
