Thanks Webber.

A Lisfranc foot injury is, or can be worse, is that right?

PS:  Can’t you blokes design a more durable body?

Can be quite the spectrum of severity, Red. Depends on the degree of disruption. If it’s just ligament tear without any joint displacement, the whole thing just needs immobilisation, whence it heals up, and on away you go. Surgery will sometimes be chosen to make sure of the ligament ‘attachment’. The worst situation is a full dislocation, what we have called a career killer, because it’s hard to stabilise multidirectionally. It’s the weight bearing arch, so all push off activities rely on it. Surgery is the only option, but outcomes aren’t perfect, though much better in the last 10 -15 years.

So is 5 weeks with surgery a realistic timeline?

With 67,943 members you'd think the Club could let us know what's going on. Why do we have to get it from journo's.

Because they don't know yet. They'll tell us when they know.

Soft modern-day  football boots is the problem.  The past players' association should insist on our players only wearing  Ron Barassi boots with  appropriate metal caps (ouch, kicking in danger) and thick leather soul and hard leathered skin.

Seems a bit of a stretch if you ask me

Here is another fun fact, high heels were designed by the Persians in the 10th centruy for their cavalry so they had better grip in the stirrups.

Love this!

The club has the scans but isn't commenting on them.

Any idea why?

Luurve ur work WCW😍

This is the second significant (and potentially season ending) injury we've had at Blundstone in recent seasons.

Petty now, and previously Tomlinson with his ACL in 2021, which is what lead to the emergence of Petty in the first place.

🤔

Oliver at FF.

The vitriol being aimed at Sparrow is completely uncalled for.

I mentioned it yesterday but not to blame Sparrow - he's one of my faves! It was more frustration that it occurred after a relatively straightforward skill error. But not vitriol at all so I hope no-one took it that way.

Petty should sue the AFL for a substandard surface.

Where was OH&S?

FFS, 30 years ago they played on mud.

Tracc has to play key forward now.  Oliver, Brayshaw and Viney supported by Sparrow, Jordon and the occasional Pickett foray should be capable enough.  We've seen enough of what the others have to offer. A forward line of JVR, Tracc, Melksham, Fritsch, Pickett, Chandler and ANB should be capable enough.  Maybe Smith steps in for Fritsch in the interim.

I assume we’ll definitely hear by tomorrow. Maybe just wrapped up in the usual article but you’d think the club would release something earlier given how critical it is.

Think we have played there 6 of last 7 years.

How often have the non Kardinia Park playing teams played there?

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
