This go home factor is getting out of control, should only recruit anyone from Melbourne within 5k radius.

There's only three bakeries in town but the best salad rolls (and banh mi) may be obtained from the Portland French Bakery which is counter intuitively run by a Vietnamese couple.

It's in Percy Street right next to where a certain large sports store used to trade.

Probably not counter-intuitive at all. There is a very strong French influence in Vietnam, particularly the North. The best thing the French did for Vietnam was to leave, but the food influence is fantastic.

Now what are we supposed to be discussing?

This much more entertaining than football. Keep it going.

Not only are they luring players to their little patch but now luring football department staff out of other clubs

I doubt there is anyone in the FD that is not an ex Geelong player (except C Scott).

Becoming quite incestuous down the road!

If we did that, they wouldn’t come to coach at Casey which is 50k from the CBD.

They certainly seem to be the most favoured, successful team in the AFL.

Fixturing, government funding, go home factor, connection to top level of AFL, huge surrounding regional area, cheaper cost of living ( property prices ), higher than most father/sons, localised sponsorships etc, etc.

Can understand Mark being offered the same job back with family.

He as a family man, is different to a 20 year old, single boy, who has signed a document agreeing to be drafted and play for any AFL Club, anywhere in Australia.

I wish Mark all the best.

I wasn't critical of the Corrigan decision.

I was referring to  ex-geelong players 'going home'/appointed to FD roles:  Byrnes, Mackie, Taylor, Egan, Kelly last year and now Corrigan.

Yes I realised that.

Correct. That is why so many bakeries here are run by Vietnamese. French colonial architecture great also. Strategic exits, not so good.

Just after a little help, is there a way to order a banh mi and get half the amount of chilli? I’ve tried staring directly that, as well as ‘only a little’ or ‘just a touch’ but always results in me getting at least twice as much as if I say nothing. And no chilli just doesn’t satisfy.

Thanks Mark great job.

I really hate Geelong too

Can we get Rawlings back?

Just won a flag for Norwood.

He's someone I'd actually easily have back in our AFL coaching ranks. Reckon he was pretty underrated.

For all we know, he might have some heavy responsibilities down Corio way and this move may well be a step to render his own closer attentions to that circumstance. I would just like to wish him well, thank him for his tremendous efforts with all of the Casey interests and in achieving what we, as fans, hoped for our young'uns.

I do not deny, however, that I resent the fact that the Catty Puts have him now.

It will definitely be interesting who replaces Mark Corrigan as coach of the Casey Demons in the VFL.

Would Mark "Choco" Williams want to do this?

Maybe we could poach Joel Selwood from Geelong for a few seasons?

I am sure there will be a few worthy candidates who would love to coach the Casey Demons in the VFL.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
