He's stepping away from 5 million.

Thats a huge step!

He cant just come and go as he pleases. Norff will have to find someone else now.

Yze says....hold my beer!

Maybe the investigation had unearthed some damming evidence? Either way the way it's been handled is appalling and would take a toll on anyone. The AFL are so incompetent at times

Brett Rotten takes over as coach of North now.

Rhys Shaw, now Clarkson with mental health struggles. North coaches don't fair well it seems!

I just wonder...and purely my thinking ...  if Clarko has just had enough of all the b.s.

He and Fagan apparently being painted into a corner.  Maybe he's just said F that, F you all at AFL...I'm not playing your silly little games....not going to rollover... bugger you lot.

Taking my bat and ball and leave you all to your delusions.

Just dont need this [censored].

I wonder 🤔

no winners in this. Best not to comment or speculate.

Except to say it's a pretty stressful job.

Here is a man of integrity and one of the best coaches of all time and has been tossed aside by the AFL based on political BS. He has been labeled a racist and put through a disgraceful process without any due process. Clarko can handle stress as demonstrated by his 12 years at the Hawks, this is something else. The AFL have ruined his career and probably others to come and set North back another couple of years. i hope he sues the AFL

Interesting to see the other coach involved and I know he is out of the footy spotlight and not in the bubble in melbourne but his team is sitting pretty near the top of the ladder.

I'm sure the onfield footy results aren't helping either. Clarko isn't used to having a team that lets face is it pretty horrendous right now.

But you could tell from hs outburst last week that he was frustrated.

Real hard one to get a proper read on.

He’s under a great deal of pressure coaching and with the allegations weighing on him.

Part of me wonders if he expected to turn things around quicker than he has. Doesn’t strike me as the kind of person that would take a step backwards to go forward

is that even possible?

We'll soon find out.

I reckon he would find it professionally insulting that people would link this to the performance of Norf. He isn't delusional. As if Norf was in the 8 it would be any different with the mud thats been thrown at him.

this is gil's legacy - started with the goodes booing racism scandal, ended with hawthorn's racism investigation scandal

Demetriou was CEO during the time the Goodes episode started, McLachlan inherited that.

It wouldn’t be helping one iota that the team is completely uncompetitive. If Clarko has been a little off in his demeanour/ intent or instruction as a result of the mental stress the allegations have caused , it’s not a long bow to draw that this has also impacted the team. Then there is the internal speculation/ judgement of the playing group on Clarko himself.

He could still be guilty of treating indigenous players badly or in a rasist manner. AFL may be taking this long so it gets forgotten about and swept under the rug.

I'm not saying this is happening just saying that we shouldn't forget the real victims here, if there are any.

What annoys me about all this, is that North have suffered more from this racism allegations than Hawthorn have, and Hawthorn are the club in question.

I have no idea who is or isn't innocent in all this, but the one thing I agree with is that this investigation has been a farce, and Hawthorn have somehow come out of it unscathed, while the individuals involved are left hanging.

God bless the AFL and it's complete lack of integrity. A joke of an organisation!

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
