Given the very sad news of the Queen’s passing, sporting events in the UK are being called off this weekend. England v South Africa at The Oval has been called off tomorrow (day 2). Today was washed out anyway.

As part of the Commonweath, will this affect sport in Australia this weekend?

I understand there is a 9-10 day mourning period too.

Okay, soooo no more Queens Birthday game??

Was on the throne for 15 english pms and 6 Melbourne flags

Very interesting.. I would doubt we would call off any events though.

I would guess that we would introduce a minutes silence tonight instead of calling it off.

As for the Queen's Birthday clash, Queen Elizabeths real birthday is 26th of April.

We dont celebrate until the second Monday of June.

Prince Charles is on 14th of November.

I would imagine that we would retain the public holiday on that date and simply rename it.

I wouldn’t expect the game to be called off. A minute silence obviously..

When princess Diana had her funeral they had to move the 1997 Friday night elimination final to the Saturday afternoon.

If the queen’s funeral is Friday night our time, I expect Friday’s prelim to be moved to Saturday afternoon.

Soccer fixtures have gone ahead in England tonight (Thurs night in England). Our game won't be postponed

The woman lived an incredible life and died peacefully at 96 in a castle surrounded by Corgis.
I want this exact death.

The Queen, Brighton lose Potter to Chelsea, please don’t make MFC tonight the third loss.

She was 96.   So hardly a surprise.

Apparently her funeral is day 10 after her death (if you believe news.com.au) so next weekends prelims won’t be affected.

The Brownlow might be on at the same time??

Lost count

A wonderful, selfless woman, who devoted her life to the service of her people and country.

RIP your Majesty, you will be greatly missed.

Love the Monarchy or not you have to admire the life she led and the person that she was. Now is the time to pay respects.
