Depends on what happens today. Cat win we should play Friday night Pies win and it should be sat night, still the AFL tend to make it up as they go along anyway so who knows.

Given that Brisbane played on Thursday and us on Friday, with all the others playing today, it would make sense for Melbourne vs Brisbane to be Friday night, and whoever vs whoever to be on Saturday twilight or evening. But what the AFL will do ...

Over-reaction much? I stopped reading this thread after the first page. I must have been watching a different game last night and a different team all year compared with everyone else. For example, I thought Harmes was good last night (but expect he'll be suspended). I also thought ANB, while not at his best wasn't as bad as others have said. The question to be asked, though, is whether the team can be improved by a change of personnel? I wouldn't have thought so.

Melksham had been good the previous few weeks...but is that enough? After all, he wasn't much worse than Brown or Pickett with respect to impact. However, perhaps they have more runs on the board overall.

Anyway, if Harmes is suspended, Petracca's hairline fracture keeps him out, Spargo's throat is problematic and Tom McDonald isn't ready, we may be limited on what we can choose to do, anyway.

You might need to rewatch the game without the blindfold this time in regards to ANB's performance.

You'd be about the only one on this supporter bar Saty that would have that view. Unbelievable.

Hope it’s Saturday afternoon. Nobody shows up on Friday nights.

OUT: ANB

IN: MCDONALD

If you believe we're our best side with Tom McDonald then we may have to expedite this. If it was any other team other than Brisbane, I would probably leave him out. But as as ludicrous as it sounds, I feel we can afford to carry him through this one if we have to.

EDIT: Most of course would believe that a fully fit Tom McDonald makes us a better side. The question is how close he can get to that? Unfortunately, we won't actually know unless we play him.

Even his brother would have been handy going forward.

Bowey should be straight in for Salem.  He was a mile off it last night.  You aint making that ground up in one week IMV as he's coming from too far back after his interrupted pre-season and late arrival.

Many on here said Salem shouldnt play and they were right!!

I needed the clarification, although I see you still didn’t say , YES  Neal -Bullen omitted.

Furthermore,  pleased to see you eventually came around to agree with my “stilted opinion” ( your words ) albeit one week and one loss too late.

I’m sorry, I can’t recall that encounter. I can imagine the opinion though.

Out. Melksham

In.Chandler.

If Harmes is suspended then Dunstan.

No chance this happens. If Melksham goes out then a tall will come in.

I think Harmes is very lucky. I'm confident it was inadvertent, but his arm was raised at the last minute, although perhaps as much in self-defence as anything else.

He hit him in the chest, nothing much in it

Is it time to bite the bullet and bring in the extra tall? Weideman/JVR

Dunstan to also come in and release Petracca to play majority up forward?

Salem is badly out of form.  I’m not much for wholesale changes but I think Bowey comes in for Salem and JVR for Melksham.   Brisbane backs without Adams are not big interceptors, so Melkshams role is not required next week imo.

I’m not convinced Dunstan is the answer. If you make a change here, I reckon they bring in Chandler, move Sparrow to the middle, Brayshaw back to half back and Salem out.

4 great games? Averaging over 8 turnovers a game since gong into the middle (3 more than Viney and Oliver). His disposal is a liability in the middle.

Still think his best position is the defensive wingman role he played last year.

Did you watch the Cats fumble all day today or is it just a MFC thing in your mind.

Salem has had a very average year by his standards

Do you think injury has contributed to that?

Undoubtedly - but doesn’t change the fact that he has been well below par.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
