Not playing well and we have lots of guys that are way down on form - Trac, Viney, Melk , Kozzie, Gus …

and a goal down - we need a big lift from these guys asap

May has been good but honestly to get sucked into Franklin is just so dumb

That was on the ump.

STOP FUMBLING THE BLOODY BALL!!!!!!!! CHRIST ALMIGHTY

This.

Same usual suspects in Sparrow and Nibbler who just fumble and cough up the footy so easily.

Max’s disposal has gone right off. Too many out on the full. That free to Franklin and the subsequent 50 was blatant cheating and the stupid maggots fell for it.

Swans killing us at the stoppages, sweating on us when we have possession, and building their attack off the turnover. We only win this if we take ownership of the contested pressure game. Just gonna fumble and fiddle our way to a loss otherwise. Longmire is a frankly brilliant coach.

No Goodwin is a lousy match day coach

Not going the way I wanted but it is entertaining. I feel we can come back. I hope they regroup

Dees playing one spare back so swans have tge extra at stoppage.

So i dont know why we don't stop with the handball (its bit slippery) and bang it fwd.

To that poinr for some reason we are holding it back for more numbers to get back into our fwd 50 rather than go quick to one on one.

Sound idiotic? Does to me.

Blocking free kick against Melk wasn't even looking at the player. Swans player ran into him.

Viney has been one of the worst offenders.

Viney 13 touches but 11 are handballs

12 fumbles !! Love his attack but captain fumbles tonight

Not enjoying this at all.!!!

Swans can win the flag. They are exceptionally well drilled and coached. Our midfield has been super disappointing.

I really don't want to play the Lions again next week. Surprised that we are still short in the live betting, Swan still over $2.

Absolutely. Nibbler had two chances and two misses. He’s had 4 missed tackles in 1st half.

Melksham needs to lift

He’s playing on Patrick Mcartin FFS and preventing him from peeling off to intercept

oh I forgot many of our supporters are stats driven

All five were well off the pace in that first half.  Never seen Viney lose his feet so often.

ANB doing ok or?

Havent been watching closely but what do ppl think of Sparrow's game?

Yep. Umps have no feel for the game. Or working eyes.

Well they never get any better do they? If these are the best........

Once again, you're confusing incompetence with corruption.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
