Had a listen to SEN this morning, they played a bit of Fagan's media conference from yesterday. When asked about Neale and possibly Harmes tagging him I'm sure I heard he said we used questionable tactics to nullify Neale last time we played them. He then mentioned it's up to the umps to watch that sort of stuff. Just what the ump lovers on this forum wanted to hear.

Go Dees!!!

As long as they give Oliver and Gawn the same consideration.

Pretty sure he was sooking not long ago about the GC tactics against his forward line which was analysed with behind the goal visions where there was absolutely nothing to be seen.
The guy knows if we play anywhere near our best we are a 5 goal better side at any ground.

Did he add what they and other teams do to Oliver...

He has played that 'poor Neale' card a few times now this year.  Probably trying to get the umps on side.  He should show more public belief in his team rather than sook.

Wonder what he would say about Oliver if he was a Lion.

He is in a wresting match nearly every contest to get free to go after the ball and rarely free kicked.

Listening to it my initial thought was Fagan is trying to manufacture some kind of 'edge' last minute. If our tactics were dodgy back in round 15 he had plenty of time to complain to the umpiring department.

Would be our biggest H & A win for a long time if we can pull this off.

Similar to the games in 1998 against Sydney and Richmond.

More recently probably the WCE win in Perth in 2018

Round 23, 2021?

So much 'redemption' and impetus on road to the Premiership, in that after the siren win.

Flew into Coolangatta last night, 25 degree day up here. Now, looking out at the sun nudging above the horizon on the Coral Sea at Currumbin 15 storeys up. About to go for a run around Burleigh Heads headland and then a dip. Geez I'm glad to be out of the miserable sodding Victorian weather.

Way to rub it in mate, jeez! 🤣

It's a beautiful sunny day in Melbourne today, not a cloud in the sky and sub 10 degrees 🥶

Agree ... that win = 2021 premiership

Win tonight = 2022 premiership

Interested in some DL opinions on what reasons Brisbane are so much better at the Gabba than anywhere else?

Geelong you can attribute to the dimensions of the ground, but the Gabba is similar in size to the 'G, where the Lions' recent record is terrible.

For this year it is because they have played weaker teams.

Haven't looked at prior years.

Finals start tonight.

Exactly, a loss will be considered a choke of the highest order. We are the reigning premier coming up against a team we’ve had little trouble disposing off in the past. Top 2 is still achievable.

My theory?

Day games are often much more hot and humid than opponent are used to - the lions train in such conditions so that probably gives them some advantage.

And night games are often slippery with the dew and humidity, and again opponent are not used to those sort of conditions.

As much as it is frustrating to see the attention  that the likes of Oliver and Gawn has received all year it makes me feel proud that Goody never seems to play the ‘woe is me card’ in the public media to try and get the umpires on side.

We'll win comfortably tonight. Not a belting like last time, but 4-5 goals. We've got the wood on Brisbane, and as much as the media want to make out we're in poor form, Brisbane are in the same boat and have stumbled over the line at home against weaker opposition.

We also travel incredible well and will be on the road again first week of final to play Swans at the SCG. Get it done Dees!

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

The Demons almost blew a six goal lead and ultimately hung on to win by three points over the North Melbourne Kangaroos at the MCG and have temporarily jumped back into the Top 8.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
