Have to feel for Jordon. Played a lot last year but ended up in the sub role in the pointy end.

Now he's been in the starting 22 for the first 21 games this year but loses his spot late. If he isn't the sub this week, it will be his first game out of the side since 2020.

His form had dipped and put his spot at risk, although the same could clearly be said for Sparrow and Spargo as well.

Looks a little like Roman concrete - tough enough, readying and settling for the weeks ahead.

D'mania would that be the original Pantheon concrete or is it James Harmes struggling in the 'Gabba glue with 'concrete boots' late in the game?

2018.

Have only played them once at the Gabba since then though, which was 2019.

Hogan kicked 5. Garlett kicked 4.  They were a potent combination in 2018 !!

Stunning.

And maybe because he’s plays mostly in the AFL … is a seasoned senior player & has missed a couple of games due to  concussion & VFL byes  so has had a mini break with the body.  Would have zero worries on his fitness . As an AFL team … we have def played of 5 day breaks & if he wants to play finals …no brainer on effort!

You'd be the first person who thinks that!

Half of our banner crew are confident he’s staying. Many cheer squad members are confident he’s staying. Likewise, many Dees supporters on FB. So it’s not like everyone believes he’s leaving.
More to the point: did I do something heinous to you in a previous life? Coz I know I haven’t in this life, yet you routinely regard me with contempt. I’ve no idea why, but it’s super annoying. Please don’t continue to do so. TIA.

Saved our backside that night

I really wonder why there is so much anti Sparrow talk on here. He does his job and like quite a few others in the team can be inconsistent. If you let a thousand flowers bloom you might get run over by locusts.

Spargo gives bugger all, slow, doesnt get enough of it and hardly hits the scoreboard. Dont give a stuff about his percieved forward pressure. SMITH would have been a much better bet up forward to assist BBB

Smith? Give me a spell. Spargo is our best kick going inside 50, he'd get more of the footy if his teammates passed the ball to him when he was free more often.

What does Dean Kent got do with Teams R23 team v Brisbane ?  Get on the St.Kilda website you people .

News report we are adding grunt to our team by including Harmes. Have I missed something we didn't need grunt because Harmes played for Casey !!!! This team is more vanilla than vanilla (poor comparison I suppose ) , we don't have any aces up or sleeve i.e Joel Smith  or JVR . We will get done . Maybe we should offer Hird a an assistant coach position, actually Hird has more of a footy brain than Goody.

Rob Zombie never sang about vanilla

Smith seems to be becoming some kind of combo of Hawkins, Farmer and Jesaulenko with every post...

If that is a genuine question then you know sweet FA about how we play. I don't know why you even bother postering.

I see Sparrow as a protector and safety, tough to tackle, can receive a hot handball and gets out of jail.

Shepards our main ball movers and getters, when in close.

Good sized mid.

Can run all day and still perform when exhausted.

Usually a good kick, has the capacity to pop up when is needed and will take it on when it is his time.

Loads of potential as he learns to position himself well and deliver the ball to advantage.

He is learning from Oliver, Trac, Brayshaw and Viney.

Seriously wtf, the coaching panel who delivered us a flag haven’t listened to Picket Fence and dropped Spargo.

Amateurs all of them, do they not have access to stats sheets

Just about sums it up really well.

Could well become a hurter if he desires. Only getting bigger with confidence.

More to the point: Why are you on a forum if you can't handle someone not even criticising you but simply REPLYING to your posts? If you find it super annoying that someone doesn't agree with you all the time on here then that's a you problem. You never actually talk about football on here and quite often I see you try to pick fights with other users for no reason at all. You thrive off drama and not only that but when you do disagree with someone you almost put on a show for the other people here like it's a studio audience and it's cringe. Almost like it's to make yourself feel better. To me you act like a bully and although you're very popular here haven't seen yet what other people see. It feels fake and insincere.

You asked, I told you. Don't ask if you don't want to hear.

I reckon this might be the game where we see our famed Premiership 8 Wall back in tact with Harmes back in the guts on Neale.

   Lever               May                  Salem

       Rivers         Petty      Hibberd

Brayshaw                                Langdon

Take your pick. I was considering a triad of players forming a pre-finals bond onfield for a specific role and this appeared to my eye to be a strengthening of best available quality for the gap that has emerged across the season we have just observed.

Awww hon, who hurt you?

Thanks for answering my question. Now I know EXACTLY how to post on DL. Lemme just check I got everything: I’ve gotta be phony, insincere, a bully, I’ve gotta pick fights, put on a show for the studio audience, not talk about football and thrive off drama. Yep, I can manage that.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a plane to catch. I’m going to the footy tonight… whoops, I mentioned football. Soz, won’t do it again, I promise!

Toodles sweetie 😘

PS: Your’re not alone. I see old mate @Stein9193has liked your post. (He who slithers out from under the bridge just to disparage the Demon Army.)

Until you replied to him, I thought he sounded blockworthy.

You have creds, I think.  You don't really need to join in on the level of his "reply".

A few years ago I made free with my opinion of James Hird, and a poster replied with "you're better than that Robbie".  Well, i hadn't been, obviously, but I still haven't forgotten the admonishing, and it has stopped me from my worst.

Good on you for your practical support of the team.  And for going to Brisbane to support them.  And for trying to ask nicely to be left unattacked by a fellow supporter.  I like your posts.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
