Maybe Smith/JVR for Spargo or ANB ? 🤔  Any experimenting should have been done weeks ago though probably.  The Port game and just after (latest) so doubt we'll see these now barring injury.

It may be changed by how some at Casey play today. A big game from Smith, Chandler or JVR could force a change.

JJ and Sparrow just going about their roles. So they’re the most vulnerable. Gus more wing and Harmes to Neale makes sense.

Not really his fault but Spargo struggling. Bedford and Chandler managed this week from VFL

The problem with the side is mostly the best players underperforming and not the role players.

Jacko was great in the ruck early and made a contribution forward, just couldn’t nail tricky shots. They’ve got the balance right that brings Gawn and Brown in to the game as it goes on. If the team kept running they’d all get more chances as forwards.

I wish people would get off Ben Brown's case. No way will he be dropped. Works his [censored] off and constantly gets to a contest and knocks the ball clear for the crumbers.

His last contest resulted in the winning goal. Opposition backs are paranoid about ganging up on him. That leaves space for Kozzie and co.

Maybe Harmes comes in for a tagging role.

The knee injury has really taken a toll on his.

It's effecting turning circle and power to push off contest. 

And I agree with you, right now he's not suited to the wing role. His awareness and reaction timing is off and he isn't able to provide the run like he did in the first half of the year.

It's too late now to make this move which I'm annoyed about,  but I would have given Jake Bowey a go when Jordon hurt his knee.

Bowey played all his junior footy as a natural wingman/half forward and he's someone who is so composed with the footy but also adds speed and creativity on the outside. 

100% debunked. Brown gets the best defender every week as our single key forward. He competes up and down the ground in marking contests when he’s a lead up forward and is able to bring the ball to ground.
 

The Brown haters forget he competed in the air all night and won us a stoppage when he was 3 v 1 in the dying seconds of the game. Not to mention his clutch mark/goal in the last. 
 

Reckon Harmes to come in the tag Neale. Hard to say who comes out. Possibly JJ or Sparrow but they may have had tagging roles last night.

I'd like to see Harmes and Bowey come in if only to give some struggling players a rest. Some of them look pretty wretched (Petracca & Jordon for eg.). It won't happen but we look to be really limping to the finish line. Do we get a week off at the end of the H & A season? We certainly need it - it's been a taxing fixture.

Weid is at least a forward who chops out in the ruck which would improve our balance. He would offer more than Jackson forward and force Max to take more ruck minutes, both of which I think are positive.

Otherwise, Spargo was putrid, Neal-Bullen continues to make poor decisions and Sparrow had no impact. Would probably bring Harmes in at a minimum to tag Neale and look at a small forward who might occasionally trouble the scorers.

If Weid kicks 14 in the vfl, I be willing to give him another chance.

Absolutely, more bounce from half back, half forwards leading hard and above everything a greater midfield work rate would really open things up. But good teams aren’t just giving the corridor up repeatedly.

I don't think it takes too much either. Just enough to place doubt in other teams mind and force them to spread their zone wider, giving us a bit more breathing space as we transition from defence to attack.

He was pretty good. Started to get a bit of run back and he actually used the ball pretty well I thought.

I think Smith for ANB may be a good move. Kossie, Melk and Spargs give us plenty of small forward crumbers but one of those three would need to play higher up the ground.

Yes, there is a week off.

Wouldn't mind Bowey is just to hit a few targets when needed. Lacking composure at the moment.

Sparrow or Jordan out for smith

then they become medi sub. I know its not like for like but we can afford to bring out one of them

smith although tall still has pace so it’s not like you’re losing too much of it for a tall.

Yeah, definitely need the composure down back, especially with Lever shaking everything that goes on his boot. Just not sure who comes out of the backline, Rivers, Hibbo, Salem. Would be leaning toward Rivers probably, but he's been OK.

Oh my god someone who actually understood what Brown's role was in the side. If he was outnumbered in the contest and couldn't mark it he was clearly instructed to bring the ball to ground. Bowey in to replace one of the pressure forwards - Spago or ANB -  we need his kicking skills into the forward line and both lads out of form - particularly ANB.

Leave Brown - but just play deep -  doesn’t lead past fwd 20m arc -  and encourage midfielders / backs to run ball further toward 50m to kick.  Standing 15m out from goal is the only time Brown looks likely.

Conditions at Casey were not great and we played a boundary line game mainly.

Smith didn't do enough. Weideman contested very well and Bowey was solid (kicked his first VFL goal).

Chandler and Bedford didn't play.

Bowey for Spargo is a possibility

Harmes was a solid contributor with lots of possessions without starring

Weideman was BOG for Casey playing as a high CHF.

Problem is, when he comes into the team they pigeon hole him as a deep forward. 

I still think we are 1 key forward short and having Weideman play that high role up the field means Brown can stay deep more often then not.

We would then have 2 non chasing talls and often a ruck. Plus Weid was all big body work on small opponents today. At afl level he doesn’t have the tank, speed or clunking hands to get out on the lead at CHF. He’d be a sitting duck for a good key defender. He doesn’t kick it well enough to be a weapon with the ball either.

Not sure why we have such desire to change the Brown, Melk, Fritsch and rucks combo. Scoring really hasn’t been the problem since Melk came in to the side.

Not officially confirmed, but COVID I believe.

Bowey’s never played half forward flank at afl level. The idea of just dropping him in to a new position with no development in it really doesn’t make sense. He won’t know the structures, he won’t make space for team mates.

If the coaches had any desire to try Bowey at half forward they would’ve played him there today.
