Being called an optimist is strange, as I am pessimistic about our game against Port. Port are basically at full strength and in good form, while we are not in great form and missing 60% of our goal to goal line, including our best player.

and 3-4 are in their worst form in some time.

I can’t recall winning games a game without Clarry for about 6 years.😉

Can the Crows please beat the pies today. I'm sick of seeing those jammy bastards winning tight games. They are well and truly due a loss

Pies are going to be equal on wins with us by tonight.

Likely to be five teams on 48 points when our game starts tomorrow.

Not many players can do what Tex can with both feet.

Scott Pendlebury has nearly 350 games under his belt. He has 8 tackles so far in this game. No sign of slowing up yet

Go Crows

Hope so but Collingwood, as one would expect, are experts at getting out of jail.

Hope the crows and giants win.

Seems the umps are a wake to Ginnivan and he isn't going to get his high frees anymore.

Good to see the umps not fall for it.

Ginnivan would fair better with frees if his technique was more like Selwood's.  Selwood leans his head into the opps upperarm  and drops his knees just a fraction but usually keeps his feet.  Ginnivan leans his head into the opps shoulder but stretches his own arm up high which is a giveaway to the umps that he is staging.  He goes to ground waiting for the free, doesn't try to dispose of the ball and is correctly called HTB.

I certainly don't condone Selwood's technique.  Prefer they were all penalised.

Pies with the last 5 free kicks. Multiple missed for the crows. Insane

whos at home?

Crows delivery inside 50 letting them down. Poor execution and taking the wrong options

It'll be tight but maybe some home town umpiring will see the Crows home

what a soft 50 that was. thank you umpire

Tex could give our forwards a few lessons on how and when to lead. I know he is a bit of a boofhead but I love watching his powerful forward movement.

And although I hate to say anything good about the Pies, I consider Pendlebury the best Pies players I have seen. Sublime.

I let myself get too excited by North last week, I'm not letting that happen again today with Adelaide.

Fully assuming Collingwood pull yet another close win out of their rear ends.

Winning close games is a bit of a skill, no doubt, but it's also a lot of luck. They're already 6-1 in close games this year, and IMO are in the conversation for having the least impressive "best" football for a top 4 contender I've ever seen. Their best football doesn't get close to us, Geelong, Fremantle, Carlton, Brisbane, or even Sydney, Richmond or the Dogs. But they keep games close with effort and they hold their nerve late.

They're 6-1 in close games, actually

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
